What is a good High Scholl Graduation party menu?!

Question:

What is a good High Scholl Graduation party menu?

I am having a small gathering after my daughter's high school graduation. I want something that's simple, like finger food or something similiar .

Here's a few ideas, not sure if it's for family or teenaged friends though...

either get a party platter of sandwiches from your local grocery store or subway; or get a meat & cheese platter & some rolls & let people make their own sandwiches. (Or even pinwheels)

sodas/ bottled water/ juices

different chips & dips (or pretzels... we usually have bread dip & onion dip)

hotwings

maybe a large pizza cut into squares or those little frozen pizza bite things.

Rolled tacos go over well

shrimp cocktail

some kind of cookies or cake

a fruit & veggie platter

Veggies, chips, dips, sodas, something like that. Maybe cookies, brownies, or another baked good.

You want to cover the basics of sweet, salty and sour. Punch makes a good party beverage and there are a variety of recipes available. A sheet cake will take care of the sweet aspect of the food. Chips and onion dip will cover salty. A plate of raw cut up veggies with Ranch dressing for dip is refreshing. Pickles can take care of the sour. Anything else you want to add would be fine but those items would give you enough most likely.

Chicken Salad croissants (Make chicken salad using a store baked rotisserie chicken, chopped celery, mayo, dill, salt, and pepper....serve on miniature croissants. (You can buy them at Sam's Club)
Some type of dip: Spinach, Artichoke, Crab, Guacamole and Chips that compliment the dip.
Brownies or lemon squares
Fruit assortment...fresh strawberries, melon, fruit that is in season where you live.
Meatballs (you can buy the frozen meatballs and add a jar of premade spaghetti sauce to the crockpot and let them go.

You cant go wrong with wings...
Buffalo(my fav)
BBQ
Spicy
Regular

Then soda juice water

chips n dip

pizza

then desserts......

brownies

cookies

cake

serbet

hope this helps congrats to your daughter

For my graduation party I had finger foods: chicken fingers, sandwiches (subs), veggies & dip, fruit... I also had lasagna, sausage, peppers & onions, potato salad, and macaroni salad

Then for dessert and snacks I had chips, pretzels, cake and ice-cream. You could put a picture of the graduate or full graduated class, and have it say "Congratulations (name of high school) graduates" or "Congratulations (name of graduate) Another idea for a cake, is to have two pictures of the graduate put on the cake; have one picture be a senior picture, and one be from the graduates childhood (baby or even kindergarten/pre-school graduation).

sandwiches are easy.

bbq beef brisket sandwiches. slow cook the brisket in the oven ahead of time, cut it up and mix in bbq sauce, then freeze. we did this for my daughter grad and another family gathering of over 30 people. i just cooked 2-3 briskets on different days a few weeks in advance and it was great.

also, go to sam's club and get rotisserie chickens. you can get them in other grocery stores, but sams has nicely seasoned chickens at a great price. get several and piece them apart for fresh chicken for sandwiches.

italian sausage sandwiches are easy with cooked italian sausage with pasta red sauce added in. easy to make a bunch and keep warm.

and then if all that is too much work the cold cut option is reasonable.

Here is some suggestions:
Chips and a variety of dips,
Veggie platter, cheese and sausage/cracker platter,
A variety of deli meats ( ham, turkey, salami, etc.), cheeses ( American, Cheddar, provolone, etc.), and breads ( croissants, rolls, rye, etc.) , lettuce, mayo, mustard, etc. , for guests to make their own sandwiches.
Potato salad, baked beans, macaroni salad.

For dessert you could have: brownies, cookies, a cake or cupcake ( in the schools colors ).
