Birthday dinner suggestions?!

Question:

Birthday dinner suggestions?

What should I make for my mom's 50th birthday dinner party? There will be about 8 people there. She loves fish, and tends towards the South Beach diet (although I'm sure she'll make exceptions for her birthday!)

I'm making Creme Brulee for dessert, and possibly Angel Food Cake...

Answers:
anchilladas or pizza rolls i like to eat that for MY birthday

Wow. How about veal piccata, steamed crab legs or lobster with a garlic lemon butter, filet mignon in a cajun cream sauce, curried rice pilaf, French bread with balsamic and olive oil for dipping, green salad with feta and a lemon vinaigrette, cajun scallops, um, my brain's getting fried. At least those are my favorites and I'm only 16 years away from 50!

There are some great fish recipes in the South Beach Diet cookbook. I'm not a huge fan of fish, but Salmon is a good idea.

I want to go wo chefgirls house that sounds wonderful

Swordfish Teriyaki or Cherry Snapper Ceviche sounds good..

Why not just take her out to a nice restaurant for dinner instead. Thats what im going to do for my mom's b'day this week.. With good food, good music and atmosphere. And little dishes to be done later. :D

Anyway, good luck and all the best to you. A very Happy 50th Birthday to your mom from me.

Wow, Creme Brulee. Can I join in on the party?
