Ideas for a surprise 18th birthday party - help??!

Question:

Ideas for a surprise 18th birthday party - help??

Our foreign exhange student is turning 18 and I'm working with a few of her American friends to throw her a surprise birthday party. They're taking care of the invites and getting everyone there - I need to have some ideas on games, activities, etc. that would be appealing but not "dorky" for a group of 17-18 year olds (boys and girls). We are doing the party at our home - indoor/outdoor - and are trying not to spend too much money. Do I even need to do anything other than have food and music? Will they want to play any games?

This website has the best planning ideas http://www.evite.com/pages/party/themes....
and you should have the party out doors (it is a better setting)

normally they'll wanna do their own stuff. depending on what type of kids they are games could go either way. I say have a few new releases from blockbuster on hand just in case.

Hire some strippers for the boys and girls.

I think music and food will be fine. Most teenagers don't play party games. It's kind of embarrassing to play "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" in front of someone you have a crush on.

turning 18 is a big deal on some people. you should totally theme the people around 18 privileges. for example: do a super lottery party/casino, cause now he/she can gamble (on indian casino grounds. heehee). or you can do a little kiffy party to remind them that they are now 18 and is considered as an adult, so live it up. some fun and reasonable.

Food, soda, and music are usually great. If you have a pool, just throw a luau. Even if you don't have a pool, it is easy to pull it off and can be inexpensive. I'd have some trivial pursuit games set out and a scrabble board (s) set out on several different card tables. These are games that people can kind of play "at" when passing by or simple games like checkers and chess seem to always be a hit with our teens. Also, horse shoes seem to be a hit.

Add movies
Movies of her and the happy things you all did with her
you all enjoy this.Pictures every one loves look pictures of you all. and the things you did.
Enjoy good time..

I would try to add maybe twister or have a xbox with games out. Something competitve keeps everyone involved.
