Ideas for a 25th Anniversary party?!

Question:

Ideas for a 25th Anniversary party?

My parents' 25th Anniversary is this fall. Does anyone have any ideas for something simple and inexpensive we could do for around 100 people?

Answers:
We have just had an anniversary party and themed it "Hawaiian" as we couldn't take a dream holiday so we made the tropics come to us. We had about 50 people and decided to cater by making "Hawaiian Burgers" on the BBQ which was inexpensive and a real success with the guests. As all you need are bread rolls, patties, lettuce, onion, eggs, pineapple, cheese and tomato.
To decorate we just bought cheap bright hawaiian style prints, and sarongs and hung them around the yard and had some torches burning for that extra effect with luau music playing in the background.
We asked our guest come brightly dressed (as to get a hawaiian printed shirt is easy). For extra effect you could ask some of the guests to prepare a short statement starting with "we love this couple because......" as this is nice way to honour your parents.
We hired a cocktail ice machine which catered for about 120 drinks and most of the guests brought their own too. We also made a non-alcoholic fruit punch too.
Simple easy and affordable.

What I did is have people that you parents have not seen in so long and thay a card that has song that they both LOVE!!!

Go to foodnetwork.com and type in recipe Baked Macaroni and Cheese recipe by Alton brown,Orange Brownies recipe by Paula Deen, Lady and Sons Chicken Pot Pie recipe by Paula Deen. Keep looking on that sight best recipes. Or have a Pot Luck where everybody brings there own dishes.

I say you do a roast on your parents from everyone who is there

A big potluck cookout.
Have everyone bring pictures.
Red white and blue or silver and red could be the colors.

or Rent a hall at a hotel
have an italian style sit down dinner.
spaghetti breadstick and salad.
have a opera singer as entertainment
or have someone sing the song that the had the first dance too.

We recently had a "game" theme for ours. We had Casino type decorations; many small tables & chairs set up with different games scattered about; filling, yet snacky type food (like you would serve at a superbowl party); background music; our wedding album and cake topper for reminiscing; a champagne toast and more. It worked out for all ages.
