P.A.R.T.Y coz we wanna! I want to make an alcoholic melon...HELP!!

does it have to just be with vodka or can you use other things such as coconut malibu (Caribbean rum), champagne, bacardi, or even something such as spiced rum!?

also, do you have to scoop out the pips!? :s
ive never made one before, but heard about them off a friend, i know how to make them, but i wanted to know if you could vary on the beverages put into it :)

also, if i start it tomorrow or tonight for the party on saturday 16th August, have i left enough time!?
Oh and finally, do i have to use really expensive vodka!? Or can it just be cheap!? Since its just going to get absorbed anyways :s lol

I cant even eat it (pregnant), but i want my guests to have a great time, and i thought since i doubt any of them have had this before it would give a nice twist to gettiha hamashed haha!.
