What is the best theme party you've held/attended?!

Question:

What is the best theme party you've held/attended?

For my 40th the theme was "Forever Young". I found some items (Pea Games and Toys0 that have been around since my childhood. I used those for center pieces on the tables. Pulled out a bunch of old music which my husband converted to cd and mixed with newer songs. Fired up the grill and allowed everyone to cook what they wanted the way they wanted it. It was a riot and everyone seemed to enjoy the blast to the past.

Answers:
I like themes that aren't forced and relate to the occasion or person being celebrated. Kitchen themed bridal showers, birthdays themed around the year someone was born, etc. My fave theme/fake holiday is cinco de mayo. Nothing is easier and more fun than tequila, corona, nachos, fajitas and a pinata.

The best are Bad Taste parties. Wear the worst garb you can lay your hands on and a door prize for the most horrid peice you've ever seen. You will laugh your guts out everytime someone arrives.

My husband and I went to a middle eastern themed dinner party a couple of years ago and it was wonderful! We ate on a rug, used our hands and ate the food of the area. My husband even ate the lamb's eye, which I've been told is a delicacy. We got to dress in middle eastern clothing and it was very interesting trying to eat with a veil on!

wow that must have been a very nice party
