I could do a trip, definitely not a BBQ, but I'm looking for something unique and memorable.

Have a casino night! There are companies who run casino nights where they provide the equipment (roulette wheels, balck jack, poker, chocolate wheel etc) and the fully trained croupiers. They give everyone funny money to spend and then off you go.
You could have everyone come in "After 5 evening wear" to make it a classy event too.
Do a That 1977 Party, only leave out the cocaine! Get out the bell bottoms and butterfly collars, put on some platforms and groove with your friends.

They can do events nationwide, and you can have it installed in your own backyard. They also rent themed furniture and lighting.
