Take an 8-ounce block of cream cheese, cut it into smallish cubes, and stir it into one can of no-bean chili. Heat the whole thing in the microwave a couple of minutes, stir, and heat again until hot. Transfer it to a mini-CrockPot for serving, so it stays hot. That is a delicious and simple dip.
Bumps-on-a-log! It's a kids' favorite that grown-ups like, too. Mix peanut butter with a little margarine (it spreads better that way) then spread it down the center of cut celery stalks. Add raisins on top. You can also use a flavored cream cheese or cheese spread, but the peanut butter is the classic. It's a relatively inexpensive way to fill out the table, too.
