What food should I take to the picnic?!
What food should I take to the picnic?
I am taking a date on an outdoor picnic in the park tomorrow. The date was arranged at the last minute so I l have had to organise it on the fly. What food should I take to the picnic?
I am thinking KFC and strawberries and creme?

I now have more time to plan the perfect picnic as the date was posponed.

sandwiches, chips, veggies and dip, cookies, fruit, drinks...
Bring chocolate-covered ants. That way if ants show up, only the cannibal ants will bother you.
sandwiches, potato salad and watermelon or strawberries or grapes
You'e taking KFC? I can tell you're a man who has no idea about women.
KFC!!! make something!!
mini quiche
sandwhiches
fancy crisps maybe some fruit (as well as strawberries)
NO KFC! that is sooooo unromantic, make ur date something special. Bake tacos, or sanwiches, egg saled, fruits, veggies, and the strawberry idea is really good, if you want to add some more romance to it, bring a cd player and put in a cd with smooth jazz. you should go when the sun is setting and get a good spot to watch it go down. just wear bug spray!
ask what the person likes and take that and run with it
KFC? are u a chav?
take strawberries, champagne, french bread, bree, cold meats, anything u can feed each other really,
but KFC! that hardly makes a good impression if ur on a date!
Stop at your local deli & pick out a few items together such as smoked sausage, cheese, olives, etc. Throw in a loaf of french bread ( you can probably get this at the deli as well) and a nice bottle of wine & you'll be set!!
You should bring something like sandwiches, fruit, flavored water, chips, watermellon, etc. But DO NOT bring KFC, that would be a total breakdown in your relationship.
Deli made sandwhiches, with containers of potato or pasta salad, chips, fresh fruit, bakery made brownies or cookies. It would be sweet, good idea about the picnic.
Hello:
I would take some of the following things that would taste really good for a picnic:
Fried Chicken
Baked Beans
Potato Salad
Pasta Salad
Fruit Salad
Sandwiches
Chips
Brownies
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Taco Dip
Cheese and Crackers
Deviled Eggs
Pop or Lemonade
I would take anything that you like and that is easy to carry, and doesn't require refrigeration. If you do want to take things that have to stay cold, make sure to pack your ice chest with ALOT of ice,and put the foods that have to be kept cold at the bottom of the ice chest and pack alot of ice on top of it,or all around it! I hope you have a great time at the picnic and good luck!! ;-)
Sounds immense.. Can I tag along? :)
A simple yet romantic picnic:
A loaf of good french bread, several sliced cheeses and meats (or soft, spreadable cheeses like brie), a bottle of wine, and chilled grapes & ripe pears or peaches.
Don't forget napkins, something to sit on, paper plates & plastic knives, and one sharp knife. A couple real wineglasses would be impressive, too.
Easy solution - a sub shop/deli for a couple of sandwiches, chips, cookies, etc. - you can have her go with you when you do this if you want so she can pick out what she wants. Depending on your age/tastes, you can pick up ahead of time some soda, water, wine, or beer.
Maybe a little classier would be some cut fruit, fresh bread, cheese, veggie sticks, maybe some cold cuts, and any other odds and ends like pickles. Being in a rush, you can probably get some pre-made platters or assortments at a deli or grocery store, but you should repackage those so they don't look like you just stopped at the store to grab a couple of things.
Some nice thoughtful touches will go far, like a decent blanket/tablecloth, cloth napkins, real glasses, a little mood music. Try and think of what might make it a fancy treat for you (or what you know of her).
NOT KFC unless you absolutely know that's about the only thing she likes.
If you're sharing your thought's and feelings and put yourself into it, anything will work. I had a great picnic once that just featured hotdogs over a campfire along with toasted bagels and hot apples. But it was at one of my "secret" spots in the woods, and the day and place just came together.
Good luck, have fun!!
No KFC.. Quiche, French Stick, cheese... stilton and cheddar (Mature), garlic soft cheese... crab sticks.... pork pie.... grapes.... rasperries... wine wine wine.... have a fab time!!!!! (Nodders) ;-)
Hi, i agree kfc is not the most romantic thing for a picknick. try things that you can share or feed one another, like the strawberrys, mabe some salad sticks like carrot, cucumber, dips, bread and soft cheese, ect
good luck !
poatoes salad beans
Sounds good. Another idea is to go to your local deli and
get some deli sandwiches, potato salad, chips, dip, soda.
Have fun and hope you have good weather!
Hmm...
I suggest you go to the supermarket and have a look at what they have got (eg things like dips, scotch eggs, sarnies, quiches and so on). Surely a KFC will be cold by the time you eat!
Remember kitchen towel or paper napkins - and spoons and bowls if you are serving strawberries and cream! Oh, and drinks (thus glasses!) - and something to sit on!
Have a nice time!
KFC & Srawberries sound good to me... just be sure to bring a couple damp rags in a zipper bag or some baby wipes to "wash up" your hands before and eafter eating!
chicken or anything you want what you should do is don't listen to anybody just make sure you pack it the correct way. If you take potato salad Keep it Cold you don't want to have food poising do you.
Go to the bakery section of you supermarket. Get them to make you a hero/sub sandwich to your specifications. When you get it home, slice it at an angle so it will look nice. Take some fresh pineapple slices, strawberries soaked in 7up overnight. Keep you side dish simple. Like fresh veggies with dip. Tea is always a great beverage for a picnic.
chunky bread, cheese, ham, crisps, baby tomatoes -all of which require zero preparation.
Why not make and take the following
Olive and pepper tart
Chicken wraps
Couscous salad
Carrot cake
and strawberries and a nice bottle of wine or soft drinks
i took parma ham, melon, cheese straws and dips. french stick, brie, cherry toms, etc. no prep and my date loved it and so did my friends. obviously you need the strawberries and cream and a nice bottle of wine.
Your idea sounds nice but remember that KFC is greasy. What about buying pasta pots and some salad with a french stick. Then also strawberries and cream for afters.
Maybe a peach spritzer drink for afters or coke.
Wine, Water, Fresh Bread, Strawberries, Grapes, Cheese, Olives...Bring some cool tunes and maybe something special for your date...Have a good time
Strawberries and cream is lovely. You could try smoked salmon sandwiches, cold roast chicken drumsticks, tiny vol-au-vents, slices of quiche, some prepared mixed salad leaves, a container of Gourmet Pringles, something really classy to drink.
You need to consult a higher power. Check out the website below for picnic foods. There are many to choose from that are easy too.
Also add to your menu some cheese and crackers, with some grapes and watermelon. This will make it a lovely fresh treat.
Enjoy and I hope that it will be romantic for you!
