Question: Should i got the papers about a bug in my chocolate bar
I have a well known higher qulaity brand of choclate and i bought one of my favourite bars and bit it!. Inside a bug/larvae dropped out!. The bar when unwrapped has several holes in it where the creature has been!.

I have the wrapper, the bar and the bug all sealed in a plastic bag

Im disgusted, and not sure what to do!.

My friends said phone their customer service for compensation but i highkly doubt they would!. The other option is to sell the story to the newspaper!.

Dunno!.

Either way its horrible - i nearly gave it to me 3 year old son instead!.Www@FoodAQ@Com


Answers:
Write to the manufacturer, enclose the label and the bug if you still have it!. Companies are very quick to respond to this sort of thing!. They will usually send you at the very least coupons for free product as well as a letter of apology!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

You must contact customer services and make a formal complaint in the first instance!. The local environmental health officer might also be interested!.

The newspapers won't be interested I don't think, these things happen all the time I'm afraid and it hardly makes front page news!. You weren't sick or hurt in any way so I doubt if you will get much compensation but its worth a try at least!.

To be honest, reading about a bug in a chocolate bar is probably not interesting enough to be able to sell the story to a paper - these things happen all the time!Www@FoodAQ@Com
