What non-alcoholic drinks could I serve at my "Kentucky de Mayo" party?
I'm hosting a "Kentucky de Mayo" (or "Cinco de Derby") party for the neighborhood, and I'm not sure what drinks to serve. I know that mint juleps are traditional for the Kentucky Derby and margaritas are typical for Cinco de Mayo. But for my party I'm expecting families with lots of kids, so I'd like to find recipes for great tasting non-alcoholic versions of those drinks.

Pims Cup is a tradition in the racing circles and I also believe that they serve up Mint Julepps as well. I'd stick with a non-alcoholic punch though, and serve beer to the adults, unless they want to bring their own. For punch, here are some ideas:
1 can Frozen Margarita Mix
1 can Frozen Lemonade
1 can Frozen Pineapple juice
1 can Frozen Fruit Punch
1 litre of Ginger Ale
2 large bottles of Sparkling water with Lemon
Lots of ice or an ice ring, and float lemon slices on top!
you can do both of those non alcoholic...and you might want to try frozen non alcoholic margaritas..they will be yummy...
I don't know can you make a bourbon margarita?
your local store should have non-alcoholic versions of these.
How 'bout ..

Fruit Margaritas and Pina Colodas
I wouldn't suggest making a virgin Mint Julep. A good mint julep consists of a good KY Bourbon, simple syrup, muddled mint and crushed ice. You take out the bourbon and you are left with a sweet minty tasting water. Virgin margaritas are easy...Just use the margarita mix and pour it over crushed ice or use the blender to do the job. Or just stick to lemonade for the kids.
You should do a Mojito. That combines the mint from the Mint Juleps and it also brings in the Latin for Cinco de Mayo.
They are awesome!!!
3 fresh mint sprigs
2 tsp sugar
3 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 1/2 oz light rum
club soda
In a tall thin glass, crush part of the mint with a fork to coat the inside. Add the sugar and lime juice and stir thoroughly. Top with ice. Add rum and mix. Top off with *chilled* club soda (or seltzer). Add a lemon slice and the remaining mint, and serve.
