Birthday cake questions?!

Question:

Birthday cake questions?

where should I order my cake from? (in live in SE florida)
how far in advance?
how much will it cost?
what size? (there will be 10-15 people)
what kind of cake and icing is good?

Answers:
The above poster mentioned Costco but SE Fla also has SAMS clubs but you can get the same cakes from SuperWalmart. I think Walmart cakes rock even more than Publix. I particularly like the cakes with buttercream frosting. Any color is good, perhaps white cake with chocolate butter cream frosting? And a regular sheetcake should be good for amount of people you are feeding and the cost is probably around $13.99 or you could go with the bigger sheet cake just in case for around $17.99-$18.99. Call and ask how far in advance they need orders, every bakery is different. If you go to a commercial bakery, you will pay more.

I think you just won the award for the most boring question ever. I don't even feel like doing some research on this.

Any bakery will do.

A week in advance should be enough time.

Cost depends on how elaborate you want the decorations.

Sheet cake is big enough for 10-15 people.

Get 1/2 white, 1/2 chocolate to please everyone and get whipped frosting.

get dairy queen

Publix - they are everywhere....need to save a few $$$? Are you a Costco member?

I agree with Sallie W.

Any local grocery store that has a bakery. Most stores require you order it by the day before. I would say a 1/2 sheet with whipped frosting it's the best!

I think a half sheet is sufficient. (i have 3 kids and have birthday parties) Probably cost you $25 ish? Depending on where you order, anywhere between a week in advance and 4 days. I would definately order earlier.
Buttercream is most common frosting. Most bakeries will have thier standard iceing. You ussually choose the type of cake, marble is a crowd pleaser.
Good luck Sorry I don't know anything about your area bakeries.

Do you have a Cold Rock Ice Creamery or a specialty ice cream shop as they can do unique Ice cream cakes that are absolutely delicious. Not your average cake.

What about a donut cake. You can either have one made or simply buy a couple of dozen donuts and stack them into a pyramid type shape. Krispy Kremes are great for this and there is no cutting or messy pieces, just help yourself to one each.

Have fun!

a local bakery
a week or 2 in advance
a price will depend on where you go and how big you get.some places have a price listing and how many pieces it will be.
marble cake with choc frosting.

I would day 1/2 sheet cake, whipped icing, 3-5 days in advance, if you get it at a grocery store bakery it should be between 15-20 dollars, I always go with choc cake and the white whipped cream icing
