Should I let her buy the cookies??!

Question: Should I let her buy the cookies!?!?
This Oct we are having a "fall party" during which we are going to get married!. I call it the wedding in the middle of the reception!. We are both 40, my second marriage and his first!. We want it to be fun, relaxed, casual, and affordable!. We or our friends/family are making the food!. My future m-i-l recently told me that she intends to pay to have 1500 cookies made for our party - at the cost of $500!. I can't decide if this is totally ridiculous (she is older and not wealthy) or just accept the help and not be a control freak about it!. Thoughts!?!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

hmmm, Have you talked to her about it!? She may just want to make you a wonderful grand gesture - in which case accept the cookies :) But talk to her, if she is doing it becouse she thinks she has to/needs to - just let her know that you dont mind either way (It could be that she was thinking about it and now feels she has to follow through because she told you - I have been in this situation before and I wish I had been offered an out!) Best of Luck :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Maybe that's her wedding gift to you !.!.!.!. I'd just let her do it!. Save your battles for something that's more important:) After all, it's just cookies and will be a welcome addition to your party!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, you could tell her that 500 cookies will be more than enough for one reception!. That will lower the price!. What's your Mom doing!? ?Www@FoodAQ@Com
