Throwing a party for my newly single girl friend?!

Question:

Throwing a party for my newly single girl friend?

My friend and her boyfriend of 3 years broke up over the weekend (bad breakup she is really upset). She has been a close friend of mine for over 20 years. I want to take her out this weekend and surprise her with a little party. I want her to have fun and take her mind off of the ex. Suggestions?

Answers:
1. I'd suggest some kind of spa treatment. Whatever you want: pedicures, manicures, facials, massages.

2. For the party, I'd suggest having a normal party. Girls nights are fun, but watching chick flicks after a break up isn't the best way to cheer up. Try inviting other friends, guys and girls (maybe no couples).

3. Have dinner at the party. A potluck would work, but I think it would be a great idea for everyone to pitch in to make dinner during the party. Not only does everyone have fun as they hustle and bustle to get everything finished, but your friends' ex will be off her mind for at least a half hour.

Good luck with everything! I hope your party goes successfully!

Do girl things. Way to early to get into back into the bar scene where guys will be hitting on you all. Maybe start off by getting your nails done or going for massages. Go see a movie, have a nice dinner and just let her know you are there for her and that it will get better.
If you can get a group of girls together maybe do a slumber party (who says they're just for kids?) Girls in jammies gabbing, watching silly movies and pigging out on junk food. Blissfullness!!

Try champagne - a few bubbles will always brighten the day.
Veuve de Vernay makes a really great tasting, affordable one.
