21st Birthday par-tay?!

Question:

21st Birthday par-tay?

So my birthday is next month and I want to go all out for this one. Its an 80's themed party, celebrating the year of 1986. Everyone is dressing up in their 80s gear but I dont know what exactly to do at my party. I don't want it to be crazy drinking b/c I'm not cleaning up vomit or spilled drinks at my house so any ideas?

Answers:
You should definately serve food to help keep people from getting too drunk and probably have a special non-alcholic drink to entice people away from the alchol. You might want to serve fun kitschy 80's food like Tang, Poprocks, fruit roll-ups, lemon heads, tab soda, astronaut ice cream, and cheez-whiz. You may want to put out some standard party food as well because anyone who eats all that and drinks will for sure get sick all over the place. There is a whole index of 80's stuff at this website:

As far as games you might want to come up with a 1986 themed trivia game. This link might help it is all about music in 1986, but the site itself has many more quizzes:

You could also give prizes for the best 80's outfit and play movies from the 80's. I think there are actual board games that have to do with the 80's and I am pretty sure amazon has it. I can't link to it right now because I am at work and they have blocked amazon. Sorry.
Good luck and Happy Birthday!

If you dont want people to drink too much try to hand around nibblies most of the night. And feed them when they first arrive. That way they will have a fuller stomach and be less likely to get really drunk. Hope you have an awsome night and if anyone does get too drunk try not to let it ruin your night! You only get 1 21st! Although i would love to have another 1!!!

Well, dancing was big in the 80s, if you have one of those dance mats that you hook up to a video game that would be cool. If not, just crank some awesome music and start dancing yourself, people will join in.

Apart from that try some none drinking but funn games, like "suck/blow" with a card.

Set up some cool 80's sports too (hula hoops, hire a pin ball machine, table tennis) for people to do.

Have a cake and some speeches too.

But honestly, the best parties usually combine 3 things: fun people, good music and lots of alcohol. You could always keep everyone outside and just make sure people don't get too drunk- like have a bar they have to go to get drinks and donn't serve anyone whos too far gone.

get beer or whatever else you'll be drinking and keep it in the kitchen so that people don't see how many there is and drink and throw the bottles
know who you are inviting and set the rules with them before hand

make sure to have some crazy 80's music
but you do have to celebrate being LEGAL to drink
my suggestion is that since you don't want a bunch of drunk people, don't serve EXTREME liquor. I'd say fun drinks like margaritas or just beer.
