Can anyone help me with ideas for a cinco de mayo/my birthday party?!

Question:

Can anyone help me with ideas for a cinco de mayo/my birthday party?

I love mexican food and since both my birthday and cinco de mayo are in the same week i thought i'd have a party to celebrate both. Yes of course, there's gonna be drinks like pi?a colada but i was wondering if anyone has any decorating suggestions, party favors, food ideas, even party games.
Thanks!

Answers:
Fahitas are fun, fire up the grill if it's a nice weekend. Margaritas are wonderful, also. I'd have a Mexican themed decoration, you can do crepe paper streamers in the flag colors, maybe some imagery associated with Mexico (Virgin of Guadalupe, if you don't mind religious imagery). Have fun!

definately guacomole and fajitas! ceviche is good

Party Favor Ideas - Mini cactus plants, toy maracas, small clay pots with candy "Red Hots", bouquet of red, green & white carnations or other plants that combine the colors of the Mexican flag.

Hope you found this useful. Happy Birthday.

You will definetly need a pinata, filled with goodies.
Goodies: granola bars, chewing gum, mint candy, resses peanut butter cups, and a few small toy surprizes.

If you fill it up with the cheap candy, you will look cheap, and no one will eat it. You will find it all over the house, the next day. Trust me, it's happenned to me!!

You could also invite a nice mexican couple or family.
-That is if you are not a mexican already.
Some people get clowns, ponys, and or magician, you can have authentic mexicans.
You don't know any mexicans?
Go to the stores, find some that look like out-going fun loving people, ask and explain politely.
-Make sure they are mexican, we look just like all the other central and south americans....and some arabs.

If you live near my city-Reno,NV......contact me, I can make a personal apperance at your request.
-Happy B-day!!!!!!
Live, love, share, laugh, and don't everrrrr drink and drive!!!, be safe.

Do Not Forget The Colors: Red/Green/ White.
Do Not Forget The Traditional: Pianta

http://www.marthastewart.com the main page has Cinco De Mayo drink and party suggestions!

Pinata filled with fun items (age appropriate), balloons and streamers with Mexican flag colors, a Taco bar.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! My b'day is TODAY! We are both Taurus! Yea!

There have been lots of great suggestions, but I'd like to add an idea for your party....... How about a build-your-own-taco party? Just set everything out for your guests to make their own tacos like they prefer them. Have plenty of margaritas and lots of choices such as taco meat, shells, tortilla chips, guacomole, cheeses, peppers--hot and mild, tomatoes, lettuce, salsa--hot and mild, sour cream, onions, etc... I imagine you will have birthday cake or cupcakes, but brownies always go well with Mexican fare, too.

Hope your party is a blast! ENJOY!

How about doing it in the colors of Mexico's flag ( a good party store will have table cloths, plates, cups, napkins, etc. in many colors) , have a pinata, have a variety of Mexican foods available and most importantly have fun. You could also play some music with a Latino background ( they don't necessarily have to be from Mexico - Mariachi Bands, Christina aguilara, Ricky martin, Mark Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, etc.)
