How about a neighborhood scavenger hunt..
Send them out in teams and the team who makes it back with all the items on the list, get a prize.
Maybe even have a progressive dinner afterwards where friends of your 14 yr old have part of the meal at their house.
Go to a friends house for appetizers, then to a friends for salad, then to another friends for main course, then onto dessert (cake and ice cream at your house)
Then movies at your house???

go to the movies...

Dang! 20?!?!?? Anyways, you could rent a building (like a shelter usually near parks) and have a DJ, Food, and everything else. My sister is 17 and her parties are always there, they are a lot of fun!

just crank up your favorite radio station like KIIS FM, WILD FM, or anyother or rent a bunch of movies with good reviews and watch them with lots of snacks.

Slumber Party

How about an "American Idol" or karaoke party? Invite everyone to bring some "glamorous" items - - like furry boas, shiny clothing, glam makeup and hair doo-dads, etc. Then, spend time getting dolled up and performing. If you don't have an actual karaoke machine, you could just play cd's and lip-synch to them - - make a fake microphone, or buy a cheap one ($10) at Radio Shack, just to give them something to sing into. Give prizes, even silly ones, so everyone gets a little something for participating (ie best rock-n-roller, best diva, best air guitar, etc). If you want, you could tell everyone in advance when you invite them, so they can come prepared, bring their own cd, and have a dance routine or outfit. They might even like to team up!

Hmmmm...I think I just convinced myself to have a party like this!
