Answers:
I would go for a BBQ, the food can keep going as long as people can and everyone can eat when they are hungry and not when they are told, id have someone responsible put incharge of the grill, just putting food on everyonce in a while.
seeing as its on the beech, go for burgers sausages, and maybe chicken and ribs etc or kebabs on sticks, they are always a favorite.
This will ensure everyones fed and happy.
Also, in a cooler take down lots of lemonade, coke etc and LOTS OF ICE!!! also, you said older people, if this includes adults like yourself possibly alcoholic beverages too? obviously i dont mean for the younger ones!!
anywhos, have a good time
this isnt about food but amke sure to take a first aid kit and plenty of water as well as sun stuff and mats to sit on, theres always the one whos ill/burnt etc x x x

Go onto Sandra Lee's website at food network. She does all sorts of themed meals. I recall one that was done on the beach. I think it had a seafood theme.

Here are some recipes for cold drinks that would be good:

COW IN THE APPLE SHAKE

1 3/4 cups Skim or 2% Milk
1.2 of a 6-oz. can (1/3 cups) Frozen Apple Juice Concentrate
1 cup Vanilla Ice Milk
? tsp. Ground Cinnamon

In a blender, combine milk and apple juice concentrate. Cover and blend until well mixed. Add vanilla ice milk and cinnamon; cover and blend till smooth.
Makes 5 (6-oz.) servings.

ORANGE JULIET

1 quart Orange Juice
1 pkg. Vanilla Instant Pudding
1 envelope Whipped Topping Mix

Combine orange juice and pudding mix in blender. Process for several seconds or until smooth. Blend in topping mix for several seconds. Serve over crushed ice. Makes 4 servings.

Enjoy!

BBQ hamburgers and hotdogs. It's easy and inexpensive and everyone like them.

Well i think it should be a nice party with some traditional food and family recepies which are really good so you can be very appreciated and make something interesting but not silly enough to embarrass your son like for example have a dance floor for dancing on a more wedding like songs and you'll have great times. Make everyone of your visitors or at least the kids to say what do they think of your son and you should tape everything and it will be just fine. Don't worry so much of the food just make it special something which you haven't made such a long time ago. And everything will be great. I hope I gave you a good advice. Bye!

BBQ is such a good idea. have a cook out.

have hotdogs, hamburgers and all these other things that high school kids will enjoy :]]

The BBQ idea is great, BUT the problem I see with that is you'll be at the beach! That's too much to lug out to the beach, cook, clean up, and lug back to your home.

I would say, since you'll be having it at the beach, serve something easy for you. The beach is already messy enough with sand and birds, so do something simple. One option, which is always a favorite with me (and my guests), is order like a platter of chicken fingers or hot wings or both! If you shop it around, you can find some pretty cheap prices! You can also go to your local grocery store and pick up a veggie platter and/or a fruit platter and some bags of chips to go with everything. People will be munching on platters all day! :) Good luck!!

Beach BBQ's are the best!

Grill some hot dogs (or, better, bratwurst) and burgers (some veggie burgers or portabella mushrooms are good if he has any vegetarian friends), have cans of soda (trust me, individual cups on a windy beach are trouble), baked beans, potato salad, the usual.

Or, if you are a Martha Stewart type mom, go for the big New England clam bake thing.

I didn't know teenagers ate anything other than pizza.

But Dogs and Burgers on the Webber charcoal kettle are pretty doggone good on the beach.

SANDwiches

bar b q and like pasta salad macaroni salad , salad , burgers , hot dogs , cakes , pies , fruit , juice , stuff

Shish Kabobs!

seafood and sandwiches

for seafood: lobster, crab, crawfish, fish, shrimp.etc

if u think it's too expensive go early in the morining to the beach and they have great deals!!

We we had my brothers 16 birthday party, we fired up the grill with hamburgers and hotdogs...it was a hit! Plus, we had chips and dip, chips and salsa, cheeseball, meatballs, cocktail sausages...you could also add, potato salad, macaroni salad, pasta salad, scalloped potatoes, deviled eggs....and don't forget the cake!

BBQ definitely! Always the way to go. We have bbq at our kids bday parties all the time, and its always a hit. And of course...chips, dips, salsa, etc. is always good too. Or go unto food networks site...several of the shows have done beach themes.
