We are having a 46th birthday party/graduation party for my dad. Any good theme ideas?

Here are several ideas:
60's theme or even a 70's theme and have everyone dresses in that style and wears "big wigs" Big collared shirts for the guys minis for the ladies for food you can do Fondue, Casseroles or Crock-pot food.
Western theme with red check table clothes sunflowers and watering cans as vases utensils wrapped with napkin tied with raffia, you can serve Chuck wagon style, Hot dogs and beans/ hamburgers potato salad.
Baseball/sports theme using your dad's favorite team as inspiration for the colors, serve ballpark food: Hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, fries (chips) soda, beer, churros, ice cream on a stick.
Fiesta theme, using colorful blankets as tablecloths and sombreros as decorations with mariachis music playing serve Mexican food, Tacos, Enchiladas, Burritos, chips and salsa Margaritas/Pina Coladas serve tequila too.
Rock and Roll party, everyone can wear "dark sunglasses" for food serve "bar" food, chicken wings, meatballs, potato chips with dip, pretzels. Play a game having everyone do their best "Risky Business" skit. Hire a local band for entertainment.
Italian theme (or any nation you wish) decorate using grapevines trellis', red check, Chianti bottles (any empty colored bottles will work too) with candles for lighting, you can serve any type of Italian food you like Lasagna, pizza, Mastacoli, etc. Do a wine tasting with a few different types of wine. You can replace the labels on the bottles with your own "computer made label" using self stick paper. Put your dads picture on the label titling each like "Dad's Red" Dad's White" use your imagination and have fun.
Casino theme you can rent "casino style" tables and give everyone chips to "gamble" with, food "Buffet" of course. Use black tablecloths use dice and cards to decorate. Get a magician for entertainment.
Luau/Hawaiian decorate with tropical touches food shish kabobs, pork Khalua, poi, Karo chips. Make Blue Hawaiians or any fruit punch, you can play Limbo or Karaoke to Don Ho.

If your party is going to have more than 50 people definitely hire some local students to help with the clean up and serving of the food, this way you can enjoy the party too. Just be very clear with them what their duties are. Have them dress in a white collared shirt and black pants.
