First congratulations on his return! Try recreating your best date or maybe even better go for a quiet evening together ,talk,laugh,dance just be there for him he's been through hell and maybe just holding you and feeling your love is enough.I'm happy for you both and wish you well.

Surprise: There are a few videos and commercials for weddings where you can use candles and rose petals to trail your faroite room. Some sort of desert . Homemade pie and something to quelch his thirst. Etiqueete leaves you to make the decision such as beer or more romantic, wine or simple root beer. Congratulations to his homcoming.......
Assuming you have been together for awhile and imtimacy is already a given, then make romance work overtime. Dinner with tons of flirting, a nice long walk hand-in-hand, a trip to the Linen store to buy new sheets and then home to use the sheets.

Make him his favorite food that he has perhaps been craving and unable to get while in Iraq. If you make your evening a welcome home with all of the things he has been craving food and of course you ;) he will remember it fondly. And remember what he wants is something that he has been unable to enjoy for a long time so take the time to enjoy watching him enjoy it.

Not romantic but fun! Get plastic matress covers (they sell them for bedwetters) and a bottle of redi whip, and make yourself into a sundae for him.

First of all tell everyone to leave you alone for a couple of days. If you can arrange it, go to a nice quiet bed and breakfast somewhere everyone else won't find you and just spend time discovering each other again.
if you know him good, make him happy and do all those things that he likes .
Make sure it is just you and him and that is all you need. Remember this is a guy he will have his eyes, heart, and soul on just you. He won't be able to tell you about anything else you might have done a few days later. Enjoy your night and God bless him.
