What activities are good for a 40 year-old's birthday party?
My neighbor is turning 40 in July and i wanted to throw her a party. She loves Harley Davidson and Corona and i plan on inviting at least 10 of her friends. Her kids and her husband are helping me too. Any suggestions on fun stuff we could do or cook?

Apples to apples is a fun party game. It's also the only word game I know of that gets funner as you get more drunk.

A good idea for this type of party is a sort of 'roast' where various friends and family say things about the birthday person (in jest).
Another is a 'throwback' costume aprty for a time when the 40 yr old was doing a certain thing; suchas performing in aband or rock and roll etc.
Make the party Harley Davidson themed by buying pictures of Harleys etc.
In July, it's hot. So, do a barbeque with Hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken wings or the like. People can bring Corona 6 packs!
You could decorate in orange and black and have motorcycle accents. Oriental Trading Company has a website and fantastic decorations and party favors. You could put up black and white checkered flags and get a grocery store or bakery to create a themed cake.
You could have an activity of people breaking into teams and give each team some cardboard, scissors, markers, glue, construction paper, aluminum foil, etc. to create a “motorcycle” and have a competition to see who builds the best motorcycle and then have a relay race in them.
You could make cookies shaped like tires and beer bottles.
Blow up orange and black balloons and put strips of paper inside which say to do silly things (sing "New York, New York, bark like a dog, do the Charleston etc.) Place all the players in a circle. Pass a balloon around the circle. Each player has to sit on the balloon with all their weight for 3 seconds. If someone breaks the balloon, they must do what it says on the message.
Here are some crazy ideas:
1. Read from the phone book as a Shakespearean actor.
2. Act out this scene - a cow being branded
3. Do and sing the macarena
4. Sing jailhouse rock as Elvis

Low cholesterol foods- 40 year olds have to watch their cholesterol---get a 40 year old virgin tee shirt as a gag gift and play spin the bottle with her corona bottles........keep the cooking to the minimum- less time in the kitchen and more fun to be had- make shishkebobs with different veggies and meats and just throw them on the grill with sweet corn and potatoes---and don't forget the cake---a nice carvel ice cream cake would be light and tastey and they decorate---like the pix of her when she was 20!
