Have a BBQ....Just some hot dogs and hamburgs and some salads. Or go to Walmart and get there Big Sandwich. Or have the party later and just have cake and chips.

Good Luck.

Sloppy Joes are easy. Or a big pot of spaghetti. One of my oldest daughter's faves for finger food is to wrap hot dogs in crescent rolls and bake. The kids can just dip them in ketchup like a corn dog. Fresh veggies make good finger food, but can be a choking hazard, so for your daughter you could steam baby carrots till they're soft, and if you're still worried about her choking you can cut them into little bite-sized pieces.

As far as entertainment, at my oldest daughter's last birthday party, we did temporary tattoos. All the kids loved them. Not sure how it would go over with 2 year olds, but it was a hit for us. Easy games like a bean bag toss into sand pails or something might go over well, too.

Good luck, and hope the party is fun for all!

Go to Google and put in frugal birthday parties or toddler parties and you will get plenty of ideas and choices... good luck, I'm planning a 5th!!!

I see no reason to go nuts at a kid's birthday. there is no reason why mid afternoon cake, punch, and fresh fruit doesn't suffice. Your daughter is 2 and probably doesn't have the attention span for a big bash yet anyway especially if it's mostly family.

You could go a little farther with adding other cute desserts like petit fours, cupcakes, cookies, and or ice cream. Everything could be pink and white (cake, decor, punch, ice cream flavors, daughter's dress)

Set it all up on a picnic table in the back year with bunches of balloons tied around and you are done!

chicken poatoes salad slaw baked beans sweet tea

Too easy. Toddler finger foods, like chicken fingers, or hot dogs, or veggie trays, (for the moms too.) Cut the veggies into interesting shapes if you can. A cupcake arrangement may be better than the cake. Make sure the juice is a "clear juice, like Capri suns. Limit the balloons, (choking hazard when popped). If its warm have a backyard party with a swim theme, with a kiddie pool. (much supervision needed though). Tiny grass skirts, or sunglasses can be used as party favors. A finger-paint party is fun too. Have it outdoors and cheap t-shirts can be bought and used as cover-ups and party souvenirs. Or even sippy cups. See your local craft store to dozens of ways to personalize them An indoor rainy day? Just let them play.

I found that a lot of times we have extravagant parties for our kids to compete with parties we have been to given by other parents. The kids will never remember at age 2. They wont start caring until they enter a school environment and have the capacity to remember from year to year. A party is not a measure on how much you love your kid. So if you had cake and ice-cream @ home, that would be just as good.

don't spend a lot of money

I would just find some cute age-appropriate party supplies and then bbq or serve easy finger foods. Have some toys for the little ones to keep them occupied. See this list of party themes and each theme comes with suggestions for party favors, etc.: http://partyplenty.com/partythemes.htm...

Have a BBQ....Just some hot dogs and hamburgs and and just have cake and chips, temporary tattoos, bean bag toss ,cupcakes, cookies, and or ice cream,if its hot get a kidd pool.

if the parents come get hem involved, get some playdough and let the parents and kids make akeep sake to take home. you can go to the dollar store and get 8 in a pack, they have bubbles also. you can make gift bag on lineat theme/birthday party and print out invites and games also. food make fruitloop necklaces to eat,

barbecue always fun
have people bring a dish

cupcakes!!! make plain cupcakes and get a lot of different stuff for decorating it and let them do their own, doing this outside would be best for obvious reasons!
