Who said "sweet 16's" always have to be fancy? Have a fancy dinner with family to be traditional and with your friends go to a movie and act silly and go shopping! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE!

You should just go to a dinner.
Everyone will get all dressed up and you`ll eat at a fancy restaurant with your friends. :]

My cousin had a sweet sixteen party with an Asian theme it was so beautiful. She rented a local hall that was real cheap you could also do this at your house or even at your church if you would like. She had everyone come in white or black to make it kinda formal. she had a red silk Asian dress that she found at a mall it was sooo cute.Any way she had her hair up with chopstick looking pins and her makeup all done. The party was set up with a red white and black theme. Each table had a tablecloth and a fortune cookie at each seat with a message that said their name.(whoever was sitting there) I think she found them on a website not sure... also she had pretty flower arrangements and other decorative Asian things. She hired a DJ but since we know one in our family it was easier and she didn't have to pay. I think you could do this idea if you like the Asian style but only have one table that seats ten people with the same colors and ideas.
I hope this helps.

I think you should go to a fancy restuarant and make your friends bring their own money!

"Fake cocktails" would be fun (that LOOK like cosmos, martinis, etc but are non-alcoholic).
