Pirates of the Caribbean!?!
Pirates of the Caribbean!?
We're planning a theme day at our restaurant based on pirates of the caribbean, which will coincide with the release POTC 3 - we are based on the same site as our town's cinema and does anybody have any ideas about sites where we can get ideas for how pirates dress so the staff have an idea - or also any ideas which you think might make this day a success would be great!
Ta very much!

How about watching the first two POTC films????? If it is a POTC theme then to me that would my first place to look!
Well you do a Yahoo search for the film, that would tell you all about the characters,or look at any fancy dress websites, woolworths have a good range of Pirates of the Caribbean clothing and stuff.
two suggestions-
1.)watch old pirate movies on AMC network or rent a video.
2.)visit a disney websites and the pirates of the carribean ride
in adventureland.
Partycity has a website and lots of costume Ideas.
If you have a liquer license, dont forget the spiced rum cocktails.
Have a Jack Sparrow look alike contest.
Arrrrr me hearties, it'll be the Wiggles you'll need to be watching. Or PotC natch, or even Hook or Peter Pan etc....
Just put on a billowy white shirt or a stripey T shirt (dpending on your status), a pair of black 3/4 pants, or dark jeans rolled up. Long socks or hose - probably best if you stick with a single colour scheme. Black shoes with big silver cardboard buckles attached with double sided tape, or velcro dots.
Then add some colourful bandanas or hire pirate hats, maybe a parrot or two, no real need for wooden legs or hand-removal and hook attachment! Lots of livid felt pen scars and a few black eye patches will guarantee authentic piracy.
ARRRR! Shiver me timbers - it's JackSparrow and Co.
Go to a big fabric store and buy the cheapest red material you can get. Cut it into squares of about ..oh...70cm should do it... fold in half, put it on your head... and ARR! If everyone's costumes are a bit different, having the same headscarves will tie them together. Also handy for the recalcitrant dresser-upper who turns up on the day without a costume
I am a big fan of the $5 fake parrot (but no stuffed animals please! It has to be one with real feathers). Get it at a costume shop, along with some cheap eye patches.
And when I am a pirate (which is quite often...) I like to drink pina colada.
Boogoloo in uk have some good dressing up outfits.
You should also try ebay for decorations and outfits.
Get a bunch of cheap pirate costume accessories. http://www.partyplenty.com/theme%20pages...
You can buy eye patches and hats in bulk, then wrap bandanas around your head. Also see the link for gold pirate maiden jewelry!
