80s Food Ideas?!
80s Food Ideas?
I'm hosting an 80s party and need some great 80s finger foods ideas. Any thoughts besides candy?
Answers:
Weiners wrapped in dough! Cheez Wiz! O-s-c-a-r M-a-y-e-r B-o-l-o-g-n-a (but your guests have to sing the song to eat it)! Anything cooked in an Easy Bake Oven! Jell-O (can you invite Bill Cosby?)!
If you think of some catchy 80s food commercials, maybe you can incorporate those foods...
chicken nuggets strated in the 80's- so make some form of them. milk shakes were big. have a burger bar ( or mini burger bar) burger kings add slogan for the 80's was have it your way.
hope it helps
I recently threw an 80's party for my friend's 21st Birthday. It was fantastic, but finding food to serve was surprisingly hard. I don't think food was much different in the 80s than it is now. Candy was pretty much all I found during research (Razzles, Ringpops, Tootsie Rolls, Pop Rocks, Mike N Ikes, ets...) Here are some of the things I served however:
Cup Cakes - decorated in neon pink, purple and orange frosting
Ants on a Log - it seemed like a good idea at the time
Fluffernutter Sandwiches - Peanut butter and marshmellow creme
Nachos
Punch - served in hot pink and blue cups
Food definately isn't the main attraction of an 80s party - dressing up is definately the best! Don't sweat the food too much and have fun.
Just serve buns. Your guest will be forced to ask: Where's the Beef?
Twinkies! Fluffernutter sandwiches. I also found this website: http://www.inthe80s.com/food/index.shtml...
Pigs in a blanket
Wrap all beef hot dogs in pilsbury croisant roll dough(the one in the cardboard tube) and bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
Make Manwiches.(messy finger food)
Serve Orange Tang for a good 80's beverage.
Try stuff with big ad campaigns in the 80s, or stuff that was real comfort food as a kid. Like Eggo waffles, Doritos, Oreos, Jello, Pizza Hut, Pepsi (you could do the Pepsi vs Coke taste test!)

Rice Cris pie treats make great snacks for an 80's party. I even think they were in the 80`s!!! LOL :-)
Milkshakes Will also work P-E-R-F-E-C-T!!! also try this:
Yuppies and Valley girls made sushi big in the 80's, as well as appetizers like artichoke dip served in a bread bowl. Flufferrnutter sandwiches make great snacks for an 80's party, and you can celebrate the frozen yogurt fad with a fro-yo cake.
Deviled Eggs
Pigs in a blanket
A deli tray with ham, cheese and bread
Doritos
Now & Laters( I know you said no candy but they are a must have )
Tostitos and Salsa
Wine Coolers
Mountain Dew
I hope you have a great time =)
pizza naturally - but not the "snobby" kind.
