What can i put in a fruit salad ,besides the old standards?

Answers:
My favorite fruit salad has coconut, walnuts, almonds, blueberries, and whipped cream.
Pretty much, with fruit salad, you can just wing it.

Kiwi works nicely

i like lobster fruit salad but then anything with lobster is pretty good

I've seen marshmallows and nuts but I don't like either of them in fruit salad. Maybe jello?

i love star fruit.

if it's all older people, even if it's not if you don't use too much, an orange liquor is really good.

fresh pineapple
kiwi
star fruit (carambola)
toasted coconut
mini-marshmallows
thin-sliced celery

I have tried almonds chopped up adds a little crunch to your bite.

I usually do fresh pineapple, melon, grapes and strawberries. Slice some fresh mint and add it - that's yummy.

add nuts like pecans and walnuts, etc.

osyters raisins tuna fish cheese, tufu marshmellows sourcream jube jubes

Depends on what kind of fruit salad you want to make? There are tons of different fruit salads. I made one recently using jicama and apples with lime juice and mint and onion. My mom makes one every year for christmas called 5-cup salad that has one cup pineapple, one cup madarin oranges, one cup coconut, one cup mini-marshmallows, and one cup sour cream or plain yogurt. My grandma use to make one with a variety of fresh fruit including apples and grapes and then add lettuce to it and mix mayonaise into the whole thing.

try a pomegranate.......it's great

I call it Grape salad. Two bags of different colored grapes, Small container of sour cream, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 c. of sugar, pkg. of cream cheese. Blend add washed dried ( if soaking wet your dressing will be watery) stir. I LOVE IT!!! and so does my family so simple.

Try nuts, like pistachio or pecans or even walnuts or cashews. A chunk of good cheddar cheese shaved over the fruit works, too.
Add some of those Chinese crunchy noodles or some Grapenuts cereal for texture, if you like.
Bon Appetit!

I don't know

Try fresh apples, cheese cubes, and nata de coco (coconut gelatin cubes).

seems like you've already got some good suggestions, might I add that when you've assembled your salad you pour white grape juice over it. It will keep it fresh and stop discoloration of the fruit, and makes a great accompaniment when serving the salad.

Try some herbs like mint, coriander thyme, lemon balm and also try grating some zest of limes, oranges into the salad all or some of these will add another dimension.Strawberries and mint go very well together and it is also very refreshing.

chopped dates are really good, and maybe some chopped walnuts or sunflower seeds

Use the watermelon shell for the bowl when you empty it out, then add pieces of the watermelon, then add some canteloup, kewi, strawberries, raspberries, grapes, pineapple, blueberries, starfruit(is always fun). Use your imagination and be creative. Don't forget the lemon juice, it helps your fruit from not browning. Which is a turn off and no one will want to eat it.

buy tropical fruit like guavo, passion fruit, mango, papaya, pineapple these are sweet fruit taste so good

Some things that really kick it up a notch are:

Star fruit - looks pretty sliced and has a nice citrusy flavor
Pomegranite seeds are such a pretty magenta color and have great flavor.
Kiwi - another pretty pop of bright green color and the flavor is wonderful.
Toasted coconut. Chopped nuts. Diced celery. These all give that little extra crunch and flavor.
