Champagne and Strawberries?!

Question:

Champagne and Strawberries?

I am throwing a very fancy cocktail party for my parents wedding anniversary tonight, and we are giving champagne on arrival, remember once I went somewhere and people were drinking champagne with strawberries in it, and I can't remember if the strawberries were in the actual glass or over the top of the rim of the glass. My parents have some posh friends who are very "up" on etiquette and I want to make sure I get it right as I am in a big stress about everything else ,I want to make sure I get the small things right at least!!
Hope someone can help me : )

I made Champagne Mocktails for a teen prom dinner. Made it with White Grape Juice & club soda, but the real think would be beautiful too.

I took cubes of fruit (pineapple, kiwi, strawberries) threaded them on tall woodens skewers, threw them in the freezer on a baking tray. Keep em in freezer till guests arrive, then garnish champagne glasses.

Easier to pull the skewers out and nibble the fruit, instead of tipping the last fruits into your mouth and splashing or using your fingers!

Cheers

CHAMPAGNE AND STRAWBERRIES

1 pt. fresh strawberries
1 bottle champagne or sparkling burgundy

Wash and hull berries. Divide berries into champagne or sherbet glasses. Pour chilled champagne over berries. Eat berries with a spoon and toast the holiday with the champagne

There really is no wrong way to serve this. I have seen it both ways...alot of time if the strawberry is in the glass, it is actually champagne and berry juice (or whatever type of juice you want)..with the strawberry to garnish and fuse the flavor; people will garnish the strawberry on the rim if it is a large crowd bc of allergies! You could just have the strawberries placed by the champagne in a different serving dish. Hope this helps!

my mum usually puts some in the champers and maybe a small one on the rim but you just got to be creative

Oh, it's sooooo yummy! No one will complain! Maybe send some to your parents room on the big nigh to enjoy in private too.

Strawberries and Champagne for Two

2 cups fresh strawberries, washed and dried, stems remaining

Champagne or white sparkling wine

Place the strawberries into 2 crystal glasses and at the last minute pour the champagne over the strawberries.

Serve, eating the strawberries as you sip the champagne.

Drop it in the glass then pour champagne.

You are doing a very nice thing, and the last thing you should worry about is where the strawberries are 'supposed' to go. They go wherever you like! It's your party!

If your parents' friends are so up on etiquette they are going to judge the location of fruit and say so, then they've lost the most basic rule of etiquette, which is to try to make others happy and comfortable. Silly them. But my guess is they'll be so delighted you are serving this treat that nobody is going to have time to pinpoint the latitude of the berries. They'll just devour them.

Everyone wants your parents to celebrate and have a good time. I'd suggest you try to have a nice time too, and don't sweat the small stuff. Go put on some tunes, have a bubble bath and get yourself in the party atmosphere, then enjoy!!
