Have the invitation bordered with red roses, and have posh, but readable text!.
Say "You are cordially invited' which means you are welcomed to come
then say "to sample and enjoy lagers, ales and continental drinks"!. IF you are serving alcohol!.
perhaps for dress code say
"as a gentleman should dress"
and for ladies "as a lady should dress"
