When is the most conventional time for thanksgiving dinner?!

Question:

When is the most conventional time for thanksgiving dinner?

Some friends say early in the day--1:oopm to watch football and then eat again later. Others say 6:00 and then early to bed...which is
preferred ?

Answers:
2:00....then people can eat breakfast, and be ready to eat TURKEY!!

We usually eat around lunch time. 12-1:00. Then we eat leftovers later on, like sandwiches and stuff. Gives plenty of time to walk it off! :)

Each family has its own traditions, but most prefer to have the Thanksgiving Feast as the noon meal. The family can visit, play games, watch football or engage in other activities all afternoon, then the left-overs make a nice evening supper.

If you are preparing the holiday meal for the first time, consult older members of the family for ideas. Perhaps others would like to prepare family favorite dishes or help you cook or do the entertaining. The more people who participate, the more fun it will be for everyone.

from 3-7 at night lol then dessert start early end late
snacks can start at 12 tho like appetizers and chips an dip

2:00 p.m. for the first reason you stated.

4:15-4:30 the mid day game is over and the late game pregame doesn't start till 6:00. that gives the family a full 1 1/2 hours uninterupted food fest with time for discution and dessert.

probly earlier.......

I've been to both times with different sides of the family. 1:00 is nice so you can go home and veg after all that food. 6:00 was traditional for my mother's side of the family, but tiring if kids are coming and think of all the clean up after they leave. I'd go with 1:00.

And just eat first, then have munchies for the game. Don't serve two dinners. That's enough work as it is.

i dont think there really is of course your regular dinner time i would say but people are eating all day long.

Isn't 1:00 PM lunch? I say 6:00.

We usually eat around 2 pm. Then around 5 pm we have pies.

2:30 for us.

4:25 after u smoked a little something

all feasts are different as well as family tradition, ask family or go with the flow, start at noonish and go all day

Yes - Usually around noon or 1 pm because of the games...And too, clean-up is easier to get done!

2 is a good time. people can still eat breakfast and not worry about being too full for a good meal. then you can have left overs for a small dinner or snack. if you wait too late in the day people will be starving and getting grumpy...no fun for anyone

i say 6:00

2:00 p.m.

Me - I prefer lunch time - so that then you can eat leftovers for dinner. If not - you will have to basically cook two meals and then all the snacks (if you have people watching football games, etc.)

We always started at about 3-330 pm. That way you can get hungry again before it gets too late :)

Always been around 12:30 or 1:00 where I come from.
