is it her bday or is she just having a party ? a makeup party would be fun to have a demonstration of how to apply cosmetics. avon has a new line that is just for teens. teens can also sell the products to kids at school to make extra money. the products are good and affordable. mary kay is a bit more expensive but does home demonstrations.

ice skating parties are fun. she could also take her friends to a movie . for home parties a theme party might be fun. a hawaian lua (spelling ?) might be great in the winter. our dollar store has a lot of great decorations palm trees , grass skirt , the lei's necklance thingies.

pizza party at home and board games / dvds / crafts - jewelry making / beading is fun. also kids that age like the big submarine sandwiches. our grocery store makes great ones that aren't too expensive. scavenger hunts are fun , but require a little advance planning.

lots of theme party idea websites you can consult to get ideas.

This is what we did for my daughters 14th birthday
we did a pizza buffet and a dance party
the day before we chopped, sliced and diced a bunch of different topping and put them in Tupperware bowls. Made a few different sauces Like tomato, Alfredo and a ranch sauce, put them in bowls, had plenty of cheese. The day of the party we made a bunch of pizza dough, and made small pizzas pre bake them for about 5 minutes then set them aside. That way when all the guest get there they can make their own pizzas, you can put them on a bake sheet and finish baking.
Make the invitations either like a pizza or like a CD and ask everyone to bring their favorite music. We decorated our basement like a dance club, so after everyone is done with their pizza they can all the energy off. We also bought a bunch of the cheap disposable cameras so everyone can pick up one and take their own pictures, when we had them developed we double pictures so she could make an album of her birthday and she had extra ones the give to her friends
