Nothing against her but seriously I hate her "hyper" style too!
The thing I hate the most is when she tastes her foods. Darn it! She makes me feel like all of them are incredibly delicous, which to me is fake really!
She talks fast and a lot and that just bores me! Now I even cant enjoy Everyday Italian due to her smiles! Hec...I dont hate her, its just the way she talks and its so boring.
I like Bare foot Contessta (spelled correctly?). THis woman is very gentle, calmed, and real. SHe doesnt fake a lot like others.
I've actually given up on watching the show because i find it excessively irritating. It's like listening to nails on a chalkboard.
No, but I get tired of her saying E-V-O-O all the time.
Personally, I don't have a problem with it, but I've heard of several people that do. She has a raspy-type voice and she's so spastic that I think it could come off as harsh.
if by that you mean forced and grating...... yes, I've noticed it.....
I'm the outcast of the family of people who are HUGE fans. (not that I'm not a fan.... I just find the sound of her voice to be....well, you know...... )
Sadly, yes...it is raspy but I think mostly, its the high energy. She just doesn't seem to really ENJOY her show - just the need to get it done. She's so hyper. Even while on tour, between her energy level and that voice, it just wasn't fun to watch.

She sounds like a smoker but I have never heard that she lights up. She has a rather harsh attitude I have found when reading articles about her.
It is. But I do like her.
Youre obviously not from NY. We talk fast. We have accents. Deal with it. People from NY don't waste time dilly-dallying and chatting it up with the camera about the next door neighbors whatever- until they are senior citizens (like barefoot contessa). Rachael Ray rocks!!!
Yep and I also find her gesticulating hands very annoying - I mean how many times can one girl point her thumb at her chest to make a point. I counted one segment and she did the thumb thing 22 times in one 10 minute segment!
Also - I think she is way over exposed. She has how many shows on Food Network and now she has that prime time show, too.

Yes. I used to like her at first, but then the sound of her voice and repetitive use of certain phrases got very annoying. I've switched to watching Giada De Laurentis of Everyday Italian.
