The strands of lights on an extension cord is a good one. You can get nice platters from the deli or store. And a big washtub full of ice and beverages since the fridge isn't working yet. A radio/CD player on batteries or another extension cord? I like the idea of potluck and party inside the caravan, then have a bonfire outside later if you can. (After all, if the caravan is finished, you don't want a whole lot of drunks messing it up late at night!)

Why not make sushi? Its not too difficult and the only coking involved is the rice which can be done elsewhere beforehand.

There are some recipes on http://www.sushilinks.com/sushi-recipes/...

The cheapest and most effective lighting is candles....but do you really want to turn your beautiful caravan into a bonfire ?
You could always get your hands on some camping gear....wind up or solar powered radio and torches - not much street cred involved tho. Why dont you consider having your party NEAR the caravan, where an extension lead will reach, and offer "viewings" ?

Salad

Can you not run an extention cable from the house, and plug in a few lamps into it, you don't say where the caravan is situated, I'm only assuming that it's in your driveway

Plenty of fairy lights (they sound girly but if you don't like that, just get plain white ones and they will look better) would look cool, some music, a few decorations (maybe pick a theme) and for food....I like the sushi idea. or something else delicate and yummy that maybe doesn't have to be hot. Champagne is a must for a celebration, as are some nice glasses (which you may already have?).

Hope it goes well!

!) No naked Flames in Caravan!!
