Looking for family friendly pubs, cafes, bars etc?!

Question:

Looking for family friendly pubs, cafes, bars etc?

We are new to the UK and are not sure on the accepted norm on children in pubs etc. Can anyone recommend places handy to Bayswater were we are able to go comfortably with two primary aged children for lunch, dinner or an afternoon drink?

Answers:
Hi and welcome to the UK.
The licensing laws have recently changed over here (for the better).
Children under the age of 14 were not allowed in any pub that did not have a children's licence. These were controlled by the local Licensing Magistrates and were few and far between. The control has now been passed to local Councils and at the transition, pubs were invited to amend their licence. This amendment took the form of extended opening hours, and the admittance of children. Pubs vary from area to area but many will advertise the fact on the outside. To that end, many pubs now allow children, however there should be a 'Beefeater' pub down there in Bayswater (look in the phone book). These are predominantly family orientated houses ( allowed children in for years)and they cater well for kids. Many have play areas, are all non-smoking in the eating area. They are in general, a better environment for the kids compared to a 'run of the mill' pub!
Hope this helps?
Enjoy your stay.

You shouldn't bring kids to a bar or pub, but any cafe should be pretty family-friendly.
