Going to a "7 Deadly Sins" party, need themed food and drink suggestions?!

Question:

Going to a "7 Deadly Sins" party, need themed food and drink suggestions?

Some are obvious, like anything green for Envy and Gluttony could be anything in large amounts. But what about Pride, Greed, Wrath, Lust, and Sloth? I'd appreciate any suggestions for foods or drinks that would go with these. Thanks a bunch!

Answers:
I'd say chocolate covers all 7!!

Make better than sex cake for your food and sex on the beach for your drink (would fit with lust).

Better than sex cake:
Original recipe yield:
1 - 9x13 inch cake

SERVINGS About scaling and conversions

INGREDIENTS
1 (18.25 ounce) package devil's food cake mix
1/2 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
6 ounces caramel ice cream topping
3 (1.4 ounce) bars chocolate covered toffee, chopped
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
DIRECTIONS
Bake cake according to package directions for a 9x13 inch pan; cool on wire rack for 5 minutes. Make slits across the top of the cake, making sure not to go through to the bottom.
In a saucepan over low heat, combine sweetened condensed milk and caramel topping, stirring until smooth and blended. Slowly pour the warm topping mixture over the top of the warm cake, letting it sink into the slits; then sprinkle the crushed chocolate toffee bars liberally across the entire cake while still warm. (Hint: I crush my candy bars into small chunks as opposed to crumbs - I like to have pieces I can chew on!)
Let cake cool completely, then top with whipped topping. Decorate the top of the cake with some more chocolate toffee bar chunks and swirls of caramel topping. Refrigerate and serve right from the pan!
Sounds like a fun party!

the easiest one is sloth!! it is just unimaginative, and laziness- so throw a bag of chips in a bowl and your good to go!
the funnest i think would be lust, but you know that will overdone. that sounds like so much fun though- good luck!!

Lust has to be anything aphrodisiac, like oysters, or melted chocolate if you prefer something sweet.

Pride could be anything you want but do the "haute cuisine" think and make it as perfectly presented as you can.

Wrath could be something wickedly hot that doesn't necessarily look it - like chili vodka!

Sloth has to be something easy - bag of chips or a takeaway???

There's a pub near me that did cocktails based on the 7 deadly sins but I can't remember what was in them so I Googled - couldn't find that pub but I did find these cocktail recipes from an Australian restaurant that should work:

Pride Pride is your sin with a tropical mix of passionfruit shaken with cointreau, vodka, white cranberry juice and fresh lime
Envy Your friends will be green with envy when they see you with this sweet mix of fresh kiwifruit smashed together with midori, lychee liqueur and bacardi
Greed Awaken your greed with a shot of espresso shaken hard with kahlua and chambord, beautifully smooth

Lust
Ignite your lust with watermelon liqueur mixed with malibu, bacardi black and ruby red grapefruit juice
Gluttony Everyone is guilty of a bit of gluttony sometimes...go on...lashings of chocolate combined with fresh strawberries, chambord and cadbury's chocolate liqueur
Wrath Fire up your wrath with chilli infused honey mixed with Tanduay rum and finished with fresh lime
Sloth Slow down and relax whilst sipping this tropical treat. Passionfruit shaken with fresh lime, lychee liqueur, watermelon liqueur and apple juice. Finished with sunken Chambord.

Wrath - I would do spicy things like shrimp diablo or spicy hot bloody mary's

Pride would be good as something puffed up like a souffle, or a roasted chicken with breasts proudly displayed

for sloth I would do something very easy (lazy) like bake beans in the can and served in the can with he lid leaning open

Greed could be a mixed drink with goldschlagger in it

Somebody has been watching too much Top Chef.

For lust, you could serve aphrodisiac foods (oysters are one, google for more), and the drink could be "hot sex" or "sex on the beach".

Sloth should be something you bought at the store--leave the tags on, to prove you were lazy.

Maybe something super spicy for wrath, to signify hot tempers?

Hope you have fun!

top chef did a challenge where they had to use the 7 deadly sins.... lust was supposed to be very sexy type food. chocolate, slothe could be something coming out very slowly and gewy... maybe a cheese fountain. Pride could be as easy as an apple pie.... a proud American treat!!!! wrath can be something spicy and powerful!!!! greed could be new york style pizza where the pieces are huge or a large margarita!!!!

good luck and have fun...

LUST

Deadly Chocolate Sin

2 tablespoons butter
6 ounces semisweet chocolate
2 ounces bitter chocolate
1 cup unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 eggs at room temperature
4 egg yolks at room temperature
1/2 cup brown sugar firmly packed
6 tablespoons corn starch
1 package frozen red raspberries in heavy syrup (10 ounce) thawed
1 pint fresh raspberries
12 triangular cookies or chocolate pieces
12 sprigs fresh mint

Butter (or coat with no-stick cooking spray) sides and bottoms of 12 4-ounce ramekins and set aside. In the top of a double boiler over simmering water, combine semisweet chocolate, bitter chocolate, butter and vanilla. When butter and chocolate are melted, stir to blend and set aside.

In large bowl of mixer, combine eggs, egg yolks and brown sugar and beat on high 5-7 minutes or until thick and quadrupled in volume. Reduce speed to low and add cornstarch, one tablespoon at a time, beating to incorporate after each addition.

Increase speed to high and beat 5 minutes or until mixture stands in soft peaks. With a rubber spatula, fold the chocolate into the egg mixture, scraping the bottom and sides of bowl frequently.

Divide batter between prepared ramekins and bake in preheated 375oF oven 10 minutes (cake will be light crusted with a soft center).

Remove from oven and cool. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve, then run a knife blade around edges of cake to separate cake from ramekin. Invert ramekin on serving plate. Lift ramekin, leaving cake in center of plate.

Pour thawed raspberries in blender and puree. Strain and discard seeds. Ladle raspberry coulis around cake and garnish with fresh raspberries, triangular cookie or chocolate piece and mint.

For SLOT just go buy some chips and a jar of salsa

Trying to think of something different for "pride" I started thinking of things like "blue ribbon" or "award winning" recipes. Maybe an Apple Pie? Something both humble and boastful, I think. Or, how about the pride of your home state. Like a Kentucky Derby pie if you're from Kentucky; buckeye candy if you're from Ohio; some type of crab dish if you're from Maryalnd; or jambalya if you're from New Orleans?

Or how Southern Pride Sweet Cornbread?

1 1/4 cups sugar
1/4 cup honey
2 eggs
1/2 cup butter (softened)
1 cup milk
1 cup water
2 cups white cornmeal (for less gritty) or yellow cornmeal (I use white)
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with shortening.
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Mix sugar, butter, eggs, milk, honey and water together in a large bowl.
Mix dry ingredients together in a separate bowl: cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt.
While stirring, add dry ingredients to sugar, egg, and milk mixture and mix thoroughly.
Mixture will be slightly lumpy.
Pour into greased rectangular pan.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Serve with butter.
