Dance floor - since you are the host you should dance first with a girl then everyone else will join in -pick a really great song
introduce everyone who walks in to everybody already there - dont expect people to automatically start talking to people they dont know or have not met yet!.Say something nice about the person you are introducing them to like "This is John he plays guitar and is in a band
