Birthday music?!

Question:

Birthday music?

My aunt is turning 50 and we are throwing her a huge party, but I can't decide the music for the background!!! please help by making a few suggestions I'm looking for songs like "my next 30 years" or something that has to do with living, and how this is just the beginning type songs. Got any ideas?

Answers:
Try to learn more about what type of music your aunt most likes. Maybe it's 70's music -- the music of her teens and 20's. But what genre? Does she like disco? Rock? Pop? Country? Folk?

Just thinking of general songs that celebrate birthdays or life or celebrations, here are some that come to mind. Hope it helps!

Birthday, The Beatles
Forever Young, Bob Dylan
I Just Want to Celebrate, by Rare Earth
1999, by Prince
Celebration, by Kool and the Gang
When I'm 64, by The Beatles
I Hope You Dance, Lee Ann Womack
Get The Party Started, Pink
In My Life, The Beatles
Having a Party, Sam Cooke (The Rod Stewart Version is fun.)
Let the Good Times Roll, by BB King

Look through some old photos, & see what are and have been the things, people , places that she's enjoyed.

You should first ask you aunt what type of music she likes but if its a surprise party just play it off a bit and you could go over to her house and take a look at some of the cds or tapes she have that might give you an idea.
