I need help with a party theme.?!

Question:

I need help with a party theme.?

My cousin is leaving the National Guards. He is not retiring, just not reenlisting. He has served ten years and now has a new family. We would like to give him a party, but I'm not sure what type or them. Help!

Answers:
Pirates! Kids love 'em and growns-ups can walk around saying, "Arrgh". People can dress up elaborately or simply tie a hanky on their heads. Believe me, you see some real personality come out when people get to behave like rogues.

You can also make grog both alcoholic and non for the kiddies. Your party will be talked about for a long time and will give your cousin some fun pictures to remember the fun.

A luau is always fun. You can call those pig services to come in and do a pig roast for you. Serve punch and get some lays and you are in there!

A luau is a good idea or a costume party. Like a super hero theme. That will be fun if he has kids. If he doesn't, have a Great Gatsby party. With nice drinks 20's costumes and music if he's into that.

Americana --- just use red, white and blue everything. LTD and Oriental Trading have a lot of fun party stuff. It will not only look cute, but it will honor your cousin and the time he served. Have fun!!!

i cant think of a theme for that but its also nice if you just stick to arrangements that all match it doesn't have to be a specific theme.

Since he is leaving the National Guard you could do a flower child party -- 1969, peace, love, and linens. Cheap summer decorations look like hippie paraphernalia.

I can't think of anything any better then a red/ white/ and blue theme. Right now stores like Party City are over flowing with decorations in these colors. Make it a good old American cook out. Ask people to bring the sides and you provide the meat to be grilled. Have people B.Y.O.B and you provide the set ups and the beer ( if other people are helping you, chip in for the beer and ice).
