What are some good party themes for 20-30 year olds?
I would like to host a themed party for my friends. I am 25 and my friends are all around my age (22-30ish) We are a very fun group and had a great time at a recent costume party. So, I thought it might be fun to hold some type of themed party but want some suggestions. Please help -- costumes, food, decorations, music etc. What have you tried that has worked? What do you think might be fun for us?

depends on your type of ppl exactly.
You can have a "rich" party where everyone dresses really richy and jeweled up, make and drink the most extravagant drinks and have fun extravagant hordeurves.
Pajama party (think grown up). Where everyone where's night time wear within reason of course. Tasteful lingerie and silk pajamas etc.
30's/40's party with swing and big band music & clothes to match--- look up what was popular for drinks and food then, maybe some of their cheesy games (that will be 10x more funny after you've sipped a few drinks)
Something more low keyed- Wine Party. You can host your own if you know something about wine or there are actual ppl you can find that will set up the party for you (wines etc).
Hip-Hop party--- rap and bling, Gin, Vodka & Hypnotic drinks, hip hop music, urban wear (not pimps and hoes, but shell toes and Kangol hats)
Others include classic gangster, 60's, 80's, mardi gras, vegas, heroes & villians, south american, jungle/safari, european, asian...
I love themed parties--- I would have thrown more, but I haven't had time to and I've moved a few times in the past yr. I threw great Halloween parties. Usually to get ppl to go along w/ the theme all you have to do is hype them up w/ good advertisement whether it be a slideshow email or personal paper invites and then add some kind of jingle about being sure to be in costume etc.
There is always a sex party. Keep it dark, offer booze, dildos and lube and get ready for fun
Mad Hatter Party
Everybody dresses up like characters from Alice in Wonderland. Have a long table set up with tea and cookies and such and every once in awhile everybody has to "move down" Decorations: Decks of Cards...Cheshire cats, rabbits etc....
Hawaiian, that would be fun, palm trees, leis, party lamps....we had one and it was great!
maybe just let everyone be themselves and you can express your environment by being your self too. what a concept! ~ :D is this boring or a new fad?
I went to a 70's party it was great they had a DJ that played constantly music and plenty of food beer wine dips everyone was dressed up
Disco party, Mardi Gras, 60's hippy party.
A really good theme is "Pirates", my husband and all our friends do lots of theme parties and they really are great!!
We've also done cowboys complete with a mecanical bull and all!! I'd say that was one of the best parties we've had. We also did a oldis party with disco music from the 80"s!!!

Have a 1940's ganster theme party. TOOOO much fun!!!!
Vegas night is fun... people can dress up as showgirls, elvis impersonators, tourists, card sharks etc.... You can have karaoke, poker, fun decorations and fun finger food or get extravagant and do shrimp cocktails or whatever.
Mardi Gras is fun in the same kind of way.
Since we are in summer time you could choose a theme related to this time of the year or you can make a pool party.
Music: Reggaeton
Food: hot dogs,sandwiches or pizza
Drinks: beer, margaritas, punches, etc.
I've always wanted to throw a space party mainly because of the available music. I mean you have Space Oddity, Rocket man, Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, I know there are more I can't think of right now. Everyone can dress like astronauts or aliens, Serve exotic looking food and space-themed mixed drinks.
Dress up as something that starts with the first letter of you name. So much fun!
titties and beer always worked for us.
