9 people for dinner tomorrow night...?!

Question:

9 people for dinner tomorrow night...?

I am having 9 people over for dinner tomorrow night. I am making a lasagna, fetticcini alfredo, meatballs, sauasage and a salad. Everything is going to be home made (except the sausage and pasta noodles). Everyone is coming at 6. I always get antsy before a dinner party and start everything way too early and end up serving food that had to be microwaved to re-heat it. Can someone give me a time table to follow that will get everything hot and tasty right at 6?

Answers:
fix your trays, put them in to cook so that at about 5:30 you can turn your oven down to 250 to keep them warm.
The hard part is the prepartion for each. So go ahead and get them oven ready. Lasagna tastes better once it has a chance to settle and easier to serve. alfredo you just don't want to dry out while waiting so keep lots of sauce on it. Just plan your cook times so that the last 1/2 hour you can turn oven down to about 250 to keep warm..
Breathe and enjoy the night..it's supposed to be fun not stress!!

I'd say this is quite an undertaking! lol I recommend that you do the sausage and meatballs in a crockpot (they'll be ready whenever you are) and make the lasagna in the afternoon, but don't put it in to bake till about 4:45, cook till maybe 5:30 or so, then let it set in the oven to set up... Start the alfredo sauce while you are cooking the lasagna, then all you've got to do is turn it down to simmer, cook your noodles, throw together a salad, and let everyone enjoy. I really hope that it all turns out well for you. Bon appetit!

that certainly is a lot of food. I know you are having 9 people, but wow. at any rate, your lasagna should bake for about 45 minutes, so if it is in the oven by 5:15, you should be right on time. I would suggest preparing the lasagna first, probably at about 4:30, then while it is baking start the meatballs and noodles for the alfredo. Make your salad as guests are arriving, it is good to have conversation (and maybe wine) while putting the finishing touches on your meal.
good luck and happy eating!

If it was me the hot food especially the lasagne once it was cooked I would leave in the oven just to keep warm on a low temp. The fetticcini I would do the same with, just put it on the lowest heat to keep warm and if your worried about the water boiling out of it just put the pasta in a strainer and let the steam keep it moist but keep an eye on it.The salad above anything u can prepare early and put in the fridge in a bowl with glad wrap over it to keep cool but if your going to put dressing on it, dont do it until your just about to serve. As for your food that your buying if you can get it delivered do that otherwise get it early so your not rushed. By six everything will be hot and tasty. Allow yourself an hour and a half
