Hey!

My best advise to you would be to have a pre aranged cocktail menu for the night! this way you can have a big variety of drinks and ask each guest to bring a certain bottle, it saves you ending up with twenty odd bottles of vodka and not much else!

for recipees see www.virtualbar.com its a great site with thousands of drinks ideas! all rated you can even enter what booze you have and it will tell you what you can make

only other tip would be to buy pleanty of ice! oh and have fun

oh another thing don't know if they deliver to your area but weaverswines.com is a good bet for spirits!

Cheers

well a cocktail party usually means finger foods and drinks . Like wines ,mineral water ,beer ,etc.. also on the foods ,shrimp ,tacquitos, finger sandwiches ,cheeses, cocktail weiners etc... good luck and I hope your party is a success.

You in Massachusetts and am I invited? What are we celebrating? OH! End of term, duhhhhhhh!

I'm bookmarking this one for sure!

Finger food is a good idea. Vol au vents, cheese and pineapple on sticks, smoked salmon on bread, crudites (carrot, celery, cucumber etc) with a homemade dip, small sausage rolls, pretzels. Also wine, and soft drinks like juices, sparkling water and cola etc. Have fun x

I know books are very expensive, so don't buy them if you an help it. The internet has millions of recipes.

For food serve small things that can be eaten with hands, like stuff with toothpicks in them and party food like small quiches/pies pieces of fruit, a bowl of punch would make a nice centrepiece if you have a big crystal bowl. Always make too much food, its better to have too much than not enough and you can eat delicious leftovers yourself. Good luck.

Go to Iceland; they do a cheap; great selection of stuff for cocktail parties.

A cocktail party can get a bit complicated as people tend to all bring the same thing (i.e. vodka).

Id say either pick out a few cocktails that you like (i.e. mojito, sex on the beach and daquiries), try and get as much alcohol for this as you can afford, and then specify what you want people to bring (i.e. you bring bacardi, you bring bols blue)...

Or, ask all your friends to select a cocktail they like in small groups, and to bring all the contents of that cocktail.

Or you can just say its a cocktail party and be creative in bringing spirits and that you will provide the staple alcohols such as vodka, rum and gin.

You will definately need a cocktail book! For food go for finger foods such as home made dips with crisps and vegetables, falafel, quiche, etc
