What is a good idea for a 17th birthday party?
i had a small sweet 16 &im planning on a big 17th "coming of age" party. im paying for it myself w/ the help of a few friends. i live in new orleans. i want something unique.thanks

What is your favorite movie? Use that as a theme... it is personalized and easy to do. For example, my best friend is getting married and for her shower we are doing the theme "Diamonds are a Girls' Best Friend" (from Gentlemen Perfer Blondes). So we have diamonds everywhere from ring pops to giant Diamond ring balloons. Alot of things we have been able to borrow because they are sparkly christmas decorations. Then we have made stand up rings from sparkly paper for center pieces and bought tons of decorations at the dollar store of all places.

Go restaurant hopping! That means you go to one place for soup, another for salad, then main course (Pizza, burgers, pasta), End at your favorite place ( beach, park) for Dessert and live music!

Have a potluck in your back yard, this way you aren't shelling out the dough for food and everyone can show of their culinary skills. Just be sure to assign main dish, side dish, dessert, etc. No back yard? Ask a friend to use theirs.
what about a costume party maybe a martigra theme since you live in new orleans,or go with the theme of your favorite moive as a child (like alice in wonderland..)well good luck and happy birthday
