I'm planning a casino themed party. What drinks should I serve?!

Question:

I'm planning a casino themed party. What drinks should I serve?

Also, is it a bad idea to ask people to dress up? I'm going for classy casino, not trashy/tacky.

Answers:
I'm having one tomorrow for my S/O's 30th b-day. Its driving me CRAZY.
i have martini's planned for the ladies. simple drinks served in martini glasses, rather (whiskey sour, vodka and cranberry, lemon drops)
i've got plenty of beer
also mixing pitchers of Long Island Iced tea--my way(triple sec, vodka, 151, tequila, gin, and a little coke)

Also, making frozen margerita's. and plenty of shooters for those who would like to gamble with drinks.

:-)

and SURE...high rollers are always ready to get "dressed" for the occaision!
I'm so nervous! Hope yours goes well!

planning as we speak

Cosmopolitans!!!

What a good idea! It's actually a great idea to ask guests to dress up. On the invitation put "only black tie attire please" or "after 6 attire only"...something to that effect.

You should serve martinis, screwdrivers (vodka & orange juice), cosmopolitains and mojitos too.

If you go to www.barcardi.com you can find lots of drink ideas!

Good luck and have lots of fun!

If you wanna go "classy old las vegas" I would try and make some old fashioned drinks like a manhattan or a gin and tonic. Things like scotch and whiskey on the rocks are also good!

I am assuming these are alcoholic drinks...
Pina Colada
Mojito
Martinis (all flavors)
Bottled Beer

nothing says classy and casino like a dry martini...think Frank, Dean, Sammy and Peter...found this recipe at the rachael ray site, it was in their mag as a signature drink for a casino themed poker party...

FUN FUN... Yes they should dress up. Thats alot of the fun to a themed party.

drinks to serve..
set up a bar.. rum, vodka, whiskey/bourbon/ that will serve the most, buy mixers such as , Coke, 7-up, OJ, sweet and sour mix, tonic,
limes, lemon, marshinos cherries
a few flavors of bottled beer.. one lite one reg.
keep it simple.
have a great time...

Pick several posh drinks like Cosmos, Martinis (a martini bar would be fun) or pick your favorite drinks and rename them things like "Full House" and "Texas Hold 'em".

Not a bad idea to ask people to dress up, ask them to wear dinner wear on the invitations. Black Tie is probably too much and will deter people from coming to the party, but dinner wear sounds like dressing up :) Sounds like fun

I would have the people dress up and serve Champagne cocktails.
