Buffet Ideas please?!

Question:

Buffet Ideas please?

My husband and I are going to a gathering where everybody is taking something to make up a buffet. I was trying to think of different to take. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I wont really have lots of time for cooking, just reheating. Thanks

Try this. It's SOOOOOO easy and yummy. You just buy refrigerated buisquit dough and need sugar and butter and cinnamon. BIngo , you have a VERY impressive and EASY cinnamon rolly cake.

How about this! It's very inexpensive, easy to make and a delicious side dish. It's called Corn Pudding.

3 eggs
2 tbl melted butter
2 tbl flour
1 tbl sugar
1 c milk
1 can (16 oz) cream style corn

Beat eggs in a bowl. Add butter, flour and sugar. Beat well. Stir in milk and corn. Pour into greased 1 + 1/2 qt baking pan. Bake 350 for 35 mins. or until knife comes out clean. This is really good and easy. Enjoy!

Since its a buffet, try to find out what the theme is - for example, is it Asian? Southern? French? Thai? etc...

Once you have decided on the theme, choose something that isn't complicated and never make something for the first time for the party - always make sure you can make it.

Lastly, look at what you are serving. For instance, I would stick with finger foods, casseroles, breads and salads. I wouldn't make a soup or something that you have to put together like tacos.

Mini baked potatoes- use small potatoes, baby one are fine ,bake till cooked and then cut a cross into one end and fill with any nice filling you like,eg. cream cheese&smoked salmon, guacamole whatever takes your fancy let your imagination go wild.

Baked Beans are very easy- and a hit at every carry in I have been to.

Penne Pasta with Sgrimp, Artichokes and Sundried Tomatoes

2 lbs. of shrimp - peeled and deveined
2 (1lb.) boxes of penne
6 cloves of peeled garlic, thinly sliced
1/2 cup of julienned sun dried tomatoes
2 pkgs of frozen artichoke hearts, defrosted
1/4 cup of white wine
1/2 cup chopped flat-leaf parsley
1/4 cup of olive oil
1/2 stick of unsalted butter
salt
freshly ground black pepper.

Cook the pasta according to the package directions. While the pasta is boiling, heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet on medium-high heat. Add garlic and sautee until it starts to lightly brown (do not let it burn). Add shrimp .. when it begins to turn pink add the wine, artichokes and sundried tomatoes. Sautee until shrimp are cooked. Add the pasta and parsley. Mix everything together and serve.
