14th Birthday party suggestions?
My sister is turning 14 and were holding a surprise party forher. does anyone have any ideas on the food and theme of the party. i'm also lokking for some good recipies for the party. thanx for all your help!

Also, you can have a picnic with lots of food and drink in a park (beware of the safety though, I don't know where you live). Or you can make a party in a theather (here were I live some theaters allow birthday parties with movies and food and drink and the only allowed in the theater are the invited for the party (not strangers).
I have a suggestion for a dessert, and that's the most yummy dessert I ever saw: pavlova! That's an australian recipe and you can check on it in the source link above.

Wow, what FUN!!! There are hundreds of different themes you could do! 50's with poodle skirts and soda fountain menu, 60s with hippie clothes, could do face painting, eat finger foods, 80's disco party, a pajama party with lots of pizza, a costume party, a formal tea party with those cute little sandwiches...the list is endless!
scavenger hunt, disco night (retro music, food and dress), red carpet night (dress up and watch movies), backyard campout (cook on the grill, sleep out in the yard and tell ghost stories and stuff), a Luau? the possibilities are endless!

The theme should be something simple!!!!!
The possibilities are totally endless: you can look at Oriental Trading, they have tons of theme party ideas with anything you could ever want (decorations, plates, invites) to go along with it. But here are some ideas:
80s theme, Old Hollywood (you can use popcorn buckets, buy Oscar statues), Luau (Hawaiian dishes: Pineapple pork, tropical fruit), Beach Theme-
Something to keep in mind is that fourteen year olds LOVE to act older, so think of kind of an adult theme that you can play down...
There are tons of themes you can choose for this party. If she's really into a certain culture than choose that and usually along with diffrent cultures you can find lots of info about their foods and how they celebrate. If this is not possible than just choose one of her favorite things and base it on that. It's really EASY to find food ideas and recipes.
