Baby Shower Decorations/ Centerpieces/ideas!?!?!?!...!
I am throwing an impromptu baby shower this weekend and need ideas!.!.!.Mainly for decorations!.!.!.things i can throw together in a day but will look special!. Something unique would be nice! Www@FoodAQ@Com

HI gave a baby shower for my son's godmother!. I went to the dollar store and they had some cute decorations to hang and a door poster!. But they had cute dishes and matching napkins with matching cups!
For centerpieces on the table, I used small baby bottles filled with decorative stones used as weights!. I tied the balloons to the bottles or you can put fake flowers in bottles!. The bottles can be given to the mom to be to use for baby! Another idea I saw was baby food jars and put mini candles inside!. I wanted to do that but couldn't get baby food jars!. I asked all moms I knew not to throw away baby jars!. I used some but I like the small or big baby bottles instead!.
Another idea for a centerpiece is using rubber ducks in the center of table or you can float the rubber ducks in a bowl or fish tank bowls!.
Tie some balloons to a teddy bear and put on gift table and then give to mom for gift but can be used as decoration also!.
My friend made a diaper cake for a baby shower once !.Type in diaper cake and it will show you how to make it or you can buy them!. She made it and then had everyone guess how many diapers were used!.(newborn diapers) Diapers will be given to mom also!. Diapers are clean!.You can have everyone who wants to guess donate a $1!.00 and put it in a piggy bank for baby!. Winner gets a gift!. It was fun! Write guess on piece of paper!.
I played games!. Everyone had to guess the size of the moms stomach by wrapping toilet paper around the waist and then the mom measures her stomach!.Whoever comes the closet to moms actual size- wins!. Get a couple gifts from dollar store, put in gift bags!.

For flowers, I like strong monochromatic bouquets, with roses, gerbera daisys, tulips etc!. If it's a girl, pinks or purples are great, and if it's a boy, yellows and blues (hydrangeas) look great!. Use vases or baskets to hold the flowers, and wrap gingham ribbon around the outside, tying in a knot or bow!. I did a throw-it-together-in-a-day shower a few months ago, and served all miniature foods from the frozen foods section (they have mini burgers, mini pizzas, mini corn dogs, mini tacos, mini quesadillas, mini taquitos!.!.!.) and then had miniature pink cupcakes for dessert!. I think flowers and balloon make for the simplest decorations, and they are always appreciated by the mom to be (I give her them as a take home)!. also, another friend made white chocolate covered strawberries, and she tinted the chocolate pink with red food coloring - they were a huge hit ( : Good luck, and have fun!.!.!.

- chinese take out containers make cheap 'vases'/centerpiece holders for any occasion that look cute (especially if you get plain white ones - smart and final sells them) - fill these with tissue in the bottom, and then top with candy - hersheys kisses for example!.
- if you're having a ladies luncheon/tea party style shower, use pretty tea cups as 'vases' and group several closely together on one table, filled with flowers!.!.!.
- buy the baby bottles from the dollar store, and use these as 'vases' for your centerpieces (group several together)
- fill a vase, basket or other container with these washcloth lollipops - easy to make, and useful for the new mom!
