Oh my gosh, waht a tough decision. The only way I ever pick cake over anything else is if it's chocoalte cake w/ white icing! Are the nuts peanuts? If so, I'll say the cupcakes. If they are NOT peanuts, then I'll say the caramel apple. How's that for decisive?!

Caramel Apples. It is sweet and nutritious.

I've never heard of cupcakes that are called, Or cupcakes.
But you asked for Carmel apples, too, so here you go-

6 fresh apples
14 ounce package of individually wrapped camels, (with sticks)
unwrapped
2 Tbs milk

A. Remove the stems from the apples and press a stick into the top. Butter a baking sheet.

B. Place the caramels and milk in a microwave safe bowl, and
microwave for 2 minutes, stirring once. Allow to to cool.

C. Quickly roll each apple in the sauce, until coated. Place on the prepared sheet, to set.

And here's another recipe for you-( this one is unique!)

Caramel Apples

The cupcakes you can have any old time. Nobody ever makes caramel apples except in October, so even though I am a chocolate fiend, I sometimes choose a caramel apple, since they are a limited time item. Enjoy whatever you choose!

caremal apple

Why not do both. Some people can't eat the caramel apples for various reasons. Either dental work or nut allergies or just being embarrased by trying to eat them without making a big sticky mess.
Cupcakes seem to be popular with anyone, if it's for kids, often they seem to just like the frosting and then ditch the cupcakes. So, put lots of frosting on.

Caramel Apple Cupcakes

1 package spice cake mix or carrot cake mix
2 cups chopped peeled tart apples
20 caramels (unwrapped)
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans, toasted
12 wooden popsicle sticks

Prepare cake batter according to package directions; fold in apples.
Fill 12 greased or paper-lined jumbo muffin cups (Texas-size) three-fourths full.
Bake at 350 degrees F.
for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely.
In a saucepan, melt the caramels and milk over low heat until smooth.
Cool for a little bit so when you ice the cupcakes the caramel won't drip down the sides.
Spread caramel over cupcakes.
Sprinkle with pecans.
Insert a wooden stick into the center of each cupcake.

That's a toughy. Depends on the crowd. If it's little kids I say the cupcakes because they get to keep the ring. Most kids eat the caramel off the apple and leave the fruit behind. It's halloween! give them the cupcake!

I'd pick the apple (but my fave is the red candy kind).
