Popular 80's food/drinks???!

Question:

Popular 80's food/drinks???

Okay, so my friends and I are going to be semi hosting an 80's party, and we need to know what kind of food to serve there. We thought it would be fun to see all the tacky clothes and shoes and hairdo's again so... Here we are, having a party.

Anyways... Can you give me some ideas of some good, popular 80's foods?? Main dishes, side items, drinks, desserts, etc.

Thanks!!

Answers:
I remember eating lots of Taco Bell in the 80's don't know about homemade foods..

If you like Pina Coladas,
and gettin caught in the rain,......
This was the pina colada generation based on this tacky song.
Have some nachos, peppermint shnapps and beer, margueritas served in a huge glass, and listen to the a new group like the Police, .....
gawd, the eighties were tacky, have fun.

i called my mother because i am to young to remember the 80's. she said that back then when she got together with friends they would drink TAB soda, eat doritoes, and have some sort of dessert that had frozen cool whip. she also said thx for bringing up the memories of tight jeans, Aerosmith concerts, and all night keggers.

Brie, Perrier, Evian, and wine coolers will fit in with the theme.

POP-ROCKS! Member that candy? I remember that being popular in the 80's.

Good answers with TAB and wine coolers. Actually, sushi was really hip then, though it still is now. Reese's Pieces. Five Alive.

Monkeybread! LOL

Nouveau cuisine was hip then too... Extremely small portions on big plates... too funny.

dinner/lunch: a big cheeseburger, drink: some coke in the old fashioned bottles or Soda or Lemonade or Milk shake(vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry were very popular) dessert: Banana split or hot fudge sundae

This is only tough because in the 80's, my mother's cooking was still based in te 60's. I remember jello, simple iceberg lettuce salads with cucumber slices, and this weird dressing called Dorothy Lynch. I think it was sort of like a catalina or light french dressing. And then of course you can't leave out Doritos! The regular kind, not cool ranch or any of the newer flavors. Tombstone frozen pizzas. Mt. Dew. Pixie Stix if you can find them.

Actually, thinking about this is making me nostaligic for high school sleepovers!

Chinese dumplings... Dim Sum, see if you can find "new coke" Alba 77 shakes, Perrier,

Pasta was very popular in the '80's until we all figured out that too many carbs were making us fat.

Jolt Cola...and if you find it, let me know where because I LOVED that stuff.

Wasn't fondue dying out by the mid-80's as I recall. Chocolate or cheese for example.
