Citronella candles help somewhat. Other than that, they sell small screen tents that go over the serving dishes to keep the insects directly off the food, till someone lifts it to serve themselves, and something flies in, and gets trapped in when the person places the screen back down. Ewww!

Go for the candles!

Good luck!

cover the food un less you are eating it

i think the rain will do that lol

(if u in uk)

lucky u then :)... lol have a nice bbq

use some of my g/fs perfume

a bit tricky.....
but they arnt usually that much of a problem for me
try insect reppelant on yourself, then they ar less likely to come near you, and therefore your food

Walmart and some home improvement stores sell a fly catcher..you can also buy a can of insect repellant and spray around eating area.

A plastic bag filled with water and hung will repel flies from the area. I learned this trick while living in the Ozark mountains where the fly problem was horrible. I saw these bags over every front door and on every patio. Supposedly the fly can see his reflection in the bag and does not like it. I am not sure how true that part of it is, but for whatever reason, the bags really work.

Cook to order, that keeps flies off the food, takes longer to feed everybody and the food is nice and hot, the bbq smoke will keep the flies away from you. Have a nice one you lucky devil. (I in uk!)

Raid Yard Guard---spray it in the area you'll be using at least an hour beforehand.

And keep all food covered.

Get some citronella candles and burn them, cats, flies, and all sorts of insects hate it and will stay away! Enjoy your babry!!!
