I love Church potlucks. Wonderful for fellowship (and not too bad for Hubris either hee hee).
It's great especially if you have a church full of little old grandmothers who know how to cook. You get the most wonderful dishes, cakes, pies and puddings. :)
No- you never know what peoples kitchens look like!
My Mom took my daughter to one when she was 5..and told her whatever you do do not eat the potato salad..the kids were told to go first, so up she went..and in her loudest voice she yelled, grandma WHY can't I eat this potato salad!
My poor Mom wanted to die!
It's sad when you did make something good and not alot of it is gone when the dinner is over. That actually happens at my in-laws Christmas dinner.
When I used to go to church with my grandma, I loved it. So many different foods from what my mom made. (Mom was not a bad cook at all, just the same old repetoire) When I started taking dishes to the community potlucks, I was sneaky and always made my favorite jello dish of my mom's. Nobody would eat it, and I got to take the whole thing home for myself! Hee.
LOVE them - you get to try all those yummy dishes you would never think of cooking at home!!! Good southern fellowhship too....
yes!
I love church pot luck dinners. You get to sample some good food and share recipes. The vitals are usually casseroles with a lot of veges, desserts, etc. We usually do it with a fifth Sunday sing.
yes because you get some of the best food ever
Yeah, I do.
The only thing that can ruin it, is when one of the women think it's a good idea to ASSIGN dishes to make. The great thing about potlucks are the different ethnicities brought to the table. I live in Michigan, and some people are even racists against food!
