a cd with their favorite songs- you can make these yourself and print the cd jackets with the couples information on it and have it decorated with violets (that is the flower representing 50 years of marriage)

white candles w/ gold hearts embossed or engraved on them

frosted glass votive holder w/ a gold candle inside

a small gold picture frame - use it as the place card and the guest can take it home

you can give out personalized photo mint tins to the guests. use the couples wedding photo

gold heart keychains for the ladies and gold bottle openers for the guys

photo magnets - use the wedding photo of the couple
or a big 50 instead of a photo

"On This Day" scroll
Print out a list of things that happened on their wedding day on pretty parchment paper and put in gold tubes and tie with gold ribbon

Almost anything you want. Candies wrapped in gold foil would be nice. Anything in gold. Almond kisses are packeaged in gold foil, put those into organza bags with gold bows. Or, what does the couple like? Do they have a favorite item, candy, treat or special place they enjoy?

My sister and I planned my parent's 40th anniversary party about 8 months ago. We gave everyone some of those Bogdon's reception sticks. They are different flavors dipped in dark chocolate. Orange, cinnamon, lemon, mint, and I don't remember what else. They are individually wrapped. And you can have anything printed on the wrapper that you would like. I don't know how elaborate of a favor you were looking for but you can include that in a party favor "package" if you would like. We found an old napkin from their wedding and had it printed as close as possible to the original. We had a lot of fun planning it. It can be stressful. Just have fun with it! I'm full of ideas! Another fun thing we did is have the guests fill out a 3x5 card when they arrived to sign the guest book of ANY memory of our parents.. whether it was funny, sappy, of the one or both of them... at the end of the party whoever was left got to hear the memory read out loud. We laughed a lot. We put all of those cards in a memory book. I still have not printed out all of the pictures from my digital camera for them, but it will go with with those cards... Here is the link for Bogdens...

Could you scan their wedding photo and have it on a badge or card at each setting? My friend did this for our class reunion for each of us herself on a home computer, and it was cheap. And we all got a kick out of seeing the old photos.
